Captain Marvel Producer Explains All The Powers That She Has

Marvel’s first female-led Superhero film will bring their biggest powerhouse to the big screen. You may think that Thor is the strongest Avenger, and Thanos is bloody unbeatable. Well, think again. Captain Marvel is the strongest that there is, and she may not even need the Avengers to take him on. But before we get to see her take on the big Purple Mad Titan, she will face the army of the damn shape-shifting Skrulls who have infiltrated Earth.

Captain Marvel Powers

Captain Marvel has a wide range of abilities, from flight to super strength to photon Blasts. What we’d love to see is the Super Saiyan Mode, I mean when she goes Binary. In Comicbook.com’s set visit to Captain Marvel, they got to interview Producer Jonathan Schwartz who has revealed quite a lot of details upon the film. Along with many other things, he was asked about the powers of Captain Marvel, and he broke them down for us, with the hero making the jump from comics to film.

He said:

“Yes. By The end of this movie we’ll have seen the full run of power’s out of Carol. So that’s flight and strength and photon blasts. You know I think part of what made us excited about the character was that she was such a powerful character in the comic books and one of the most if not the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and seeing all that brought to bear is one of the big pleasures of the movie.”

While these abilities are quite awesome, she gets even more powerful in her Binary mode. Her strength and abilities totally become amplified making her unbeatable! Lucky for us, we will get to see her Binary stage in the film as it was confirmed by Schwartz. When asked about it, he said:

“Yes. For sure. And also one of the things we love from the comics was that Mohawk look that pops up in that run a little bit.”

Captain Marvel Powers

Even though Marvel has given Carol a different origin if we compare the film to the comics, the power set here does stay true to the source material. Even more so, according to Samuel L. Jackson, Captain Marvel is the only superhero who can Time Travel. So, that does mean that her powers and abilities also lead her to travel through time at will. Now, that would rather over power her. But it would be cool to finally see a Superhero who is that strong.

Producer Schwartz also weighed in on the basic plot of the film, and while he didn’t give the key aspects of the film away, he told us exactly what we should know about the film. Here’s what he told comicbook.com:

Captain Marvel Powers

“You get a glimpse of her squad there, the Starforce, led by the Jude Law’s character. Very quickly along this journey they get dispatched on a mission to an alien planet to fight the Skrulls and over the course of that mission, Brie Larson’s character is captured by the Skrulls. That puts her in contact with the younger, two-eyed version of Agent Fury, and the two of them together have to stop the Skrull plot on Earth. And at the same time, get to the root of Carol’s past. So that’s the bones of the movie.”

Captain Marvel releases on March 8 and it will lead us right into Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the official Synopsis of the film:

“The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races,” the synopsis reads. “Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
