Here’s Every Way in Which the Avengers: Endgame Trailer Could Be Lying to Us

From what we have come to know of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie trailers till now, there could be a lot that the Avengers: Endgame trailer is faking. Marvel has constantly used fake trailer shots to derail their fans ever since Age of Ultron. The Avengers 2 trailer was missing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the money shot. Civil War trailer did not have Spider-Man in the running shot. Thor: Ragnarok trailer misled us by putting Hulk in the money shot, the Infinity War trailer had a fake running shot with Hulk. So, there’s plenty of reason for us to believe that the Avengers: Endgame trailer could also be lying to us. Here’s every way Marvel could be doing that.

 Shuri’s Fate

Before the trailer came out, we had an Intuition that Marvel would want to keep Shuri alive. Angela Basset who plays Shuri’s mother Queen Ramonda also confirmed the fact that Shuri and her own character survived when she talked to the Huffington Post earlier this year. She was asked whether she survived the snap-in Avengers: Infinity War while she was promoting Mission: Impossible – Fallout and here’s what she said:

No. Neither did my daughter. Shuri, she’s a bright girl there in Wakanda. So…”

Shuri has been MIA ever since Corvus Glaive attacked her lab to get to Vision. But since Bassett did say it with such surety that Shuri made it out alive, we can consider the fact that she could be hiding somewhere and her reveal may be one of the mysteries of the film. It could very well be possible that Shuri is alive and well, and the trailer was just trying to play with our brains.

Thanos Infinity War

The more we think about it, the more it seems that Marvel deliberately put Shuri’s image in that Hologram. We need to see the interactions between Shuri, Rocket, Tony, and Bruce so let’s just bet on the fact that the trailer is straight up lying to us!

Captain America’s Beard

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

All the promo arts and the marketing features include Captain America without his glorious beard, which we only got to see for a few minutes throughout the runtime of Infinity War. While it is most certain that Marvel would not trick us on such a massive scale, but considering what they have done with the Avengers 4 title reveal, they can possibly do anything.

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

What I mean to say here is that the trailer could be hiding Captain America’s beard through CGI. It is believable that he must have shaved the Beard since he is taking on the mantle yet again, but the beard has to be there in some scenes just as a reference. Perhaps, to derail us, Marvel could have CGI’d the beard in the entire trailer, or at least in some scenes for that matter.

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

Last year, the Thor: Ragnarok trailer hid Thor’s missing eye through CGI, so we can believe that the trailer could be hiding Cap’s Beard in some or perhaps all the scenes in the trailer. Just because WB could not hide Superman’s moustache doesn’t mean Marvel can’t do that perfectly.

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

The second scenario here could be that the entire trailer could have been shot in the reshoots. Chris Evans was seen without a beard during the reshoots, so all the Captain America scenes in the trailer could have been shot during the reshoots.

Thanos might not be wearing the Gauntlet

Avengers: Endgame

Okay, this may or may not be a far stretch, but you could consider it as a misdirection as well. Thanos was last seen on what the Russos call Titan 2. He is leading a satisfied life as a farmer, and the trailer gives us a glimpse of that. But Thanos already fulfilled his mission so the question we could ask here is that why would he still be wearing the damaged Gauntlet. Sure the Gauntlet is still somewhat functional, but is there a need to have the Infinity Stones on at all times? We see his clothes changed in the trailer, but perhaps the Gauntlet on his hand could be a CGI trickery.

Tony’s clothes?

Avengers: Endgame Tony Stark

The trailer began with Tony being stranded in space on the Benatar with lack of resources that enable human survival. We could believe the fact that he is adrift in space, but the question that a lot of people are asking here is that how exactly did he get a new set of clothes?

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

The last time we saw him, he was wearing his special Nanotech armor undersuit, with no piece of clothing within his jacket. But when we see him in the trailer, he seems to have a tank on, referencing the previous Iron Man films.

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

Not just that, he also has another T-shirt on when we see him in a wide shot taken outside the Benatar. Now that we could believe to be Peter Quill’s t-shirt racked upon the Benatar, but we cannot for one second imagine Peter wearing the black Tank west that Tony has been seen repeatedly sporting throughout his MCU run.

So, this entire space sequence could be a lie on the part of the trailer. At this point it may feel that the entire trailer could be a lie and Marvel has completely robbed us off our first look. Thinking this may not be the craziest idea after all!

Steve and Natasha Might be Looking at a Different Message

Avengers: Endgame Theory Ant-Man

The ending of the trailer gave us some hope as it played right into the time travel aspect like we’ve been assuming till now. But what if Marvel devised an entire footage just to make us believe what we already have a hint of? What if Steve and Natasha Might be looking at a Different Message entirely?

Avengers: Endgame Theory Bill Foster Quantum Realm Scott

A part of this scene could be entirely true while a part of it might be a little different. Considering the great lengths Marvel can go to in order to prevent the secrets of the film being leaked, we cannot put a 100% faith upon anything we saw in the trailer.

The entire Avengers: Endgame Trailer was full of footage not in the final cut of the film

Avengers: Endgame Trailer 2

Now this here could be entirely possible. Marvel straight up lied about the title of the film for more than 6 months. Reports have suggested that Marvel is planning to have a completely different marketing campaign for this film. They always put in “exclusively shot for the trailer” scenes (aka Bullshots) in their marketing material, so what if this entire trailer, or 90% of it was a massive bullshot? As mentioned above, all of Cap’s scenes could have been shot during the reshoots.

So what if the reshoots shot the entire trailer? Knowing the treacherous Russos, this could be a thing. This is how crazy Marvel has made us, that we don’t have a clue upon what is real and what ain’t.
