The production work for Marvel’s newest entrant into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in full swing. While Marvel Studios’ marketing campaign is doing everything it can to keep the hype train running at full speed, it is also up to the actors featuring in the movies to ensure the fans know and are aware of what they are involved in. To that end, Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel in the movie of the same name, is also doing her part for promoting the movie.
And she has just posted an image of her as Captain Marvel on the sets. At first glance, the image is nothing out of the ordinary. It has Larson portraying Captain Marvel in her eponymous Star Force uniform. But if you look into the picture with an eagle-eyed attention to detail, you will realize that something is seriously off about this picture.
Brie Larson posted this image on her official Instagram account:
The phone number in question is a 1-800 number that used to be something way different and was portrayed in a good light in other movies and TV Shows before. It was changed into something grotesque and nasty. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody had an 1800 number. Even Disney used to feature the 1-800 numbers for many of their official TV shows and movies. But now, the 1800 numbers have been largely replaced by 555s in the United States. The number that is shown in the image is 1-800-654-2192.
If you want to check it out for yourself, be our guest. But be warned, it is legitimate AF.
The Hotel Tipton or the Marvel Cinematic Universe does not need the number now. Previously, if you called the number, it will lead to a pre-recorded message for the fictional Hotel Tipton that was the backdrop for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody TV Show. Now, it is just a medium of pure and unadulterated carnal pleasure….via words.
What is even more surprising is that even at the age of globalization and mass digitization, the world of Phone Sex is still not dead. Yeah, that is what we are surprised about.
If we had to guess how the number ended up in the still from the movie, we have to say that the error could be an honest but allowable one. The movie is set in the 1990’s where Pay Phones and Phone Sex was still a thing. And even is she was calling the number (or not, we are not judging), the number was probably for the Tipton Hotel, as the Suite Life of Zack and Cody was still on its nascent stages then. The Pay Phone was supposed to be a regular prop in many other Disney Productions. They forgot to change the number as it turns out. So don’t judge a book by its cover (or number).
Captain Marvel will be featuring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg as the titular character, Nick Fury and Agent Phil Coulson respectively. It will also feature Ben Mendelsohn in a villainous role as the Skrull Leader Talos.
The movie will be mostly based in the far reaches of outer space but the trailer shows Captain Marvel will be traveling to Earth during some part of the movie. Are you calling that number right now? Is Captain Marvel on the line? Or is it the Tipton Hotel? Or is it what we think it is??
Captain Marvel was mentioned for the first time in Avengers: Infinity War. The movie has already witnessed its DVD and Blu-Ray release. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment
Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just… do things
