Justice League: Snyder’s Invasion Flashback Scene Included Darkseid vs Ares Fight

The version of Justice League we saw on the big screen isn’t the one Zack Snyder had in his mind as the original version was a lot different from that as there were chances of a potential one-on-one battle between Darkseid and Ares aka. God of War. There were also reports that a lot of changes has been made in the original ideas of Zack Snyder and despite getting principal photography done, a lot of people refused to go with the idea of Snyder which resulted in the trimming of some wonderful scenes and ideas of Snyder in the film.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

In 2016, the fans of DC got teased by an extraordinary prologue scene which was similar to the opening scene of the movie ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’. Also, the flashback scene of Steppenwolf’s invasion was taken in the movie but was very short in comparison to the length fans were expecting. But, according to the latest incoming of some set photos of some work of art or paintings in the Shrine of ‘The Amazonians’ reflected that the battle was much different than the one we saw in the movie. There were also things related to the big-screen appearance of Darkseid, the Lord of Apokolips.

What We Already Know:

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

This isn’t the very first time that we’re getting the glimpse of Darkseid as according to a report from Screen Rant in which they released the storyboard of the famous Knightmare sequence in February 2018 which was missing, the storyboard reveals that the destruction we’ve seen in the scene was caused by the ‘The Lord of Apokolips aka. Darkseid’. The Omega symbol we saw in the dried Harbor of Gotham in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In Justice League movie, the scene of Knightmare would’ve been activated when the superhero Cyborg plugs into the computers of Kryptonian ships and taking him to the similar visions as Batman.

The visions Cyborg had were a lot different than the ones Batman had in his Knightmare visions as Cyborg saw that Darkseid is sitting on a throne and suggesting that Superman is now working for him, the same of this we’ve seen in the animated series by Jay Olivia named as Justice League War animated movie in which we saw the master torturer of Darkseid named as Desaad, who turned Superman into an evil in order to make him fight against Batman. But, the makers didn’t go to Snyder’s vision because of the fear that how will fans react when they’ll see Superman in the role of a villain.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

There were rumors that we’re going to get the taste of Darkseid’s dark image on the big screen as we’ve seen Thanos in all these years in the post-credits scenes of the MCU movies before making his complete appearance in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. So, setting up the boss of Steppenwolf for the next part was a choice which got backfired by the fans as they should’ve shown Darkseid in the Justice League but thought of not showing him a much better idea than the previous one. But, we can see now that Steppenwolf was destined to have an even more significant role in the movie in comparison to the ones he did.

We Would’Ve Had Him In The History Lesson:

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

So, we’ve seen the pictures of the Shrine world from a cutscene of the movie Wonder Woman and a lot of different theories are on the place now as we’ve seen that during the time of first invasion in the Justice League, the mural which we saw on the big-screen clearly do justice history lesson we got in the movie in which saw that the Amazonians, Atlanteans, and may men joining their forces in order to fight against the forces of Apokolips and also the three mother boxes came together, also a dark figure on the circle of fire, which was a lot similar to the one we saw when Steppenwolf hit his powerful axe in the land but the figure doesn’t look like of Steppenwolf and it looks a lot similar to the figure of Darkseid.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

It’s not the only about the figures as the text written in ancient Greek also hinting towards the character of Darkseid instead of Steppenwolf. Also, from the things which we know we can say that the way the battle was presented in the Justice League, it would’ve been Darkseid to lead the invasion but it was Steppenwolf in the movie who was the man leading the invasion.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

Also, when he was leading the invasion we can see that he lacks a real motivation and also wasn’t as influential as Darkseid would’ve been if he got the chance to come on the big screen. There were also chances that the Anti-Life equation would get the chance to come up front and as we all know that it’s basically the calling card of Darkseid.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

The runtime of the movie seems shorter in terms of the way they showed their characters and also the introduction they gave to the characters of the movie. Also, Steppenwolf’s leading the invasion is the reason for the cut of that mural scene from the movie. A lot of things got changed and edited by the inclusion of Joss Wheadon on the director’s chair. Wheadon did a lot of reshoots and also did some designing changes in the costume of Steppenwolf. Also, it’s normal to understand why they didn’t go for this scene as it would’ve been such a huge CGI scene and when we consider the fact that they couldn’t be able to get Henry Cavill’s mustache removed properly, it’s satisfying not to have this scene in comparison to get the scene in an awful manner.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

With Darkseid present in the original scene of the movie seems to be as similar to the one we saw in The Fellowship of the Ring, by positioning Darkseid similar to a Sauron character, with the imagination and possibilities of having him as the main rival in the sequel of the Justice League. But, according to the Greek text we discovered we can clearly see that the Darkseid was in a battle but we got the whole part removed in the post-production part of the movie and it’s hard to imagine that we couldn’t be able to have the taste of Darkseid in the movies yet.

Darkseid Vs. Ares:

The comic fans and true fans of the DC always comes with a bang and this time also the fans of DC just went beyond the possibilities of a normal fan as they translated some of the text written in ancient Greek and the results they got are absolutely amazing despite a major difference as the text reads as,

“The Allies have managed to push back the conspiracy of the intruders with iron, blood, and horses.”

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

“Zeus wanted to stop and kill Skotomidis [Darkseid]. He ordered his son, Ares, to kill the invader, but he couldn’t. Skotomidis [Darkseid], falling down with a roar, was defeated, and left for the stars, with his soldiers following. They left three Mother Boxes behind, and a Mother Box was given to each tribe to be protected until Skotomidis [Darkseid] invaded again.”

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

After having a look on this version of the fight, it’s quite normal and simple to understand that where the fight supposed to went. In the theatrical cut of the Justice League, when the invasion flashback came we saw that there’s an actual fragment of this moment left when Steppenwolf got shoot by lighting form Zeus and also it was Ares who picked the axe down on the shoulders of Steppenwolf’s shoulders. It’s normal to expect a continuation of this fight but what we see is that Steppenwolf glares towards Ares and the camera cuts away to Artemis, who is shooting one of the Apokoliptan spaceships and then we saw Steppenwolf running away from the battlefield.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

In the credits list of the movie Justice League we can see the name of David Thewlis, who played the role of Ares in the movie Wonder Woman, where we got a slight view of the actor but not in the God-look and was when we saw all the heroes standing around after the end of the battle. But, fans couldn’t believe that it was the original idea of putting Ares on for such a short span but directs our eyebrows towards the possibility of having a conversation between Ares and Zeus in order to stop the invasion led by Darkseid, as it was mentioned in the original version.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

There were also reports that Warner Bros. didn’t present Ares vs. Darkseid in the movie because many fans could find it confusing as Ares was the villain of the movie Wonder Woman and now presenting him up against Darkseid would’ve been a slighter absurd despite not showing and clearly telling what Ares is all about. But, it could’ve been a fight to watch out for as we all know Ares is also regarded as God of War and on the other side we have Darkseid who is regarded as the God of Evil.

Justice League Ares vs Darkseid

So, a lot of questions are on the table for DC as fans are constantly pleading for a Snyder Cut version of Justice League because of all the possibilities this gives and can possibly lead Justice League into a better direction. But, now it’s going to difficult to bring Darkseid on the big screen. Also, they have the option of going towards a fight between Ares and Steppenwolf. Also, Gareth Edwards’ animated film named as Monsters in his bedroom, is a mysterious production already out in the market and makes huge question marks on Snyder cut of Justice League maybe for this time.

Tell us in the comments section below what do you think about a fight between Ares vs. Darkseid?
