Justice League Extended Scene Reveals Mera, Queen of Atlantis Taking On Steppenwolf!

Justice League gave us a lot of world building but met none of the expectations. While Snyder’s grand vision was desecrated beyond repair by Joss Whedon and Kevin Tsujihara, new facts about the movie continue to surface that keep driving the news mill for the DC Extended Universe. The movie introduced a lot of new characters to the DC movie universe. While Cyborg and Flash were certainly new faces, all eyes were on Mera, played by Amber Heard, when she first debuted thousands of feet underwater and singlehandedly took on Steppenwolf, the Conqueror of Worlds in the movie. That fight was short lived but as it turns out, it was actually a long fight or at least longer than Warner Bros. was willing to reveal. Presenting – Justice League extended scene reveals Mera, Queen of Atlantis taking on Steppenwolf!!!

Fans have been pleading day in and day out for the Snyder’s cut of the movie, which arguably is a far superior and complete version of the Justice League. Whedon’s disastrous take did no Justice to the League (no pun intended) and fans have been relentless in their attempts to keep on asking the WB Executives about revealing the Zack Snyder version of the movie.

The extended scene featuring Mera and Steppenwolf is probably from an ‘unknown’ version of the movie that has been sitting around in WB servers since ages. Let us all cut to the chase. This ‘Unknown’ Version is nothing but the Snyder Cut that WB is trying to wipe out.

The video clip was released online by Vamos Ramos on his official Twitter account. There are several strange elements in the clip. Not only is the clip showing a longer fight between Mera and Steppenwolf, it also features a Steppenwolf that bears a resemblance to the Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice version that we saw in the Director’s Cut of the same movie. This confirms the hand of Snyder in making the slip and increases chances of a Snyder Cut being present after all.

Here is the twitter post we are talking about:

Vamos was seen replying to a Twitter user that goes by the name smcolbert. He is heard saying an interesting line about the movie:

“It was filmed for sure. I have the extended previz of the fight and it looks almost the same except this part and the jarring editing.”

The battle between the water dweller and the Apokoliptian shows Mera trying to fight back is using her famed aqua-kinesis. In the movie, Steppenwolf brushed her away like a tulip. At least in this clip, Mera manages to subdue the trespasser at least for some time even if it is all futile in the end. You go girl!! In the movie, Steppenwolf held her by the neck in a fraction of a minute and almost choked her to death before Aquaman arrived and managed to push him back enough to save the day. Steppenwolf still succeeded in taking the Motherbox with him.

Mera will be again featured in Aquaman. Do not worry. Wan knows his profession like the back of his hand and he will give proper justice to every character that stars in it. Amber Heard’s Mera is in good hands unlike the last time. Expect the Queen of Atlantis to soar high this time (Or dive deeper). Whatever floats your boat! (Again, no pun intended).

The last movie to be released under the DCEU banner was Justice League. The official film synopsis of the movie reads:

Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly-awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes in Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash, it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

James Wan’s Aquaman is scheduled for release on the 14th of December, 2018. The official film synopsis of the movie reads:

Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.
