“Yeah. It was amazing. That’s why that movie works. Thanos is… What a character. The fact that he made you, kind of, go like ‘He’s got a point, right? He’s got a point.’ And part of me is like ‘I’m glad he’s sitting there on his chair, with the sun coming down.’ I mean, I hate that half of the world’s dead, but there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘He succeeded!’ I don’t know what that says about me.”

The one thing we can see in Thanos’ character is the motivation he had in his mission of destroying the universe and we’ve seen it in Infinity War, also the reason he has given in his quest of destroying the world seems to be different than the usual villains who are there to destroy the world because of greed and revenge. The MCU has seen a slight problem with their villains as the villains they’ve produced over the years are underdeveloped and unmemorable in most of the occasions.

We’ve seen the example of it in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ through the villain of Vulture (Michael Keaton) and Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) from Black Panther. The directors of the movie Joe and Anthony Russo and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, were able to find a base on which the audience can empathize with a villain like Thanos despite all the menace he has done and the damage he has done to the superheroes.

So, there are clear indications that he’s going to play a very massive role in next year’s Avengers. There are reports that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is on a long hold after the departure of Gunn from the plans of MCU.

‘Avengers 4’ is scheduled to be released on theatres on May 3, 2019.
