Aquaman Trailer 2 is Out and DC Has a Confirmed Winner This Time!

As we moved into October, people were looking forward to this year’s 5th Marvel movie Venom. But the hardcore DC fans knew that there was a something for Aquaman right around the corner. The movie comes out in just over 2 months, and it is now the perfect time to give the story trailer for the future king of Atlantis. So, without further a due, let’s just dive deep into Atlantis, or we could stay on the surface of land with Aquaman trailer 2.

It is good that WB decided to give us an extended trailer as it gives the big synopsis of the film that most fans needed. It was the complete story trailer you could ask for. Black Panther was a movie that was stripped right out of comics as the director of the film, took all the great pieces of his story, and clubbed them together to make a great movie, but honestly, this right here, this is something much better! It is as if the pages of the comic book have come to life, so hats off to James Wan!

The trailer starts with giving us the origin for Aquaman as Arthur will be the bridge between land and Sea. Then it opens up to the mission that Arthur and Mera will be on. This mission was talked about before the first trailer by Aquaman’s unit publicist Ernie Malik. He said:

“Aquaman goes on this quest to find out where the true trident, the king’s trident, is. Not this trident (shown in Justice League), the dead king’s trident which is really the trident you want. With this trident, you can control the whole ocean, everything. But only a true king can wield it in their culture.”

Now we see through the extended clipping that the hologram of King Atlan guides Arthur and Mera much like Zor El guided Kal El in Man of Steel, but this time it will be a One-Off. The trailer showed us moments of beauty as the way the movie has been shot, it just looks so pleasing to the eyes. And the dialogues between Arthur and Mera were really funny! So this film is going to be the light hearted fun movie which we have been promised. It will be grand. The action sequence, in particular, are just amazing.

There were two problems with the trailer. The first one is that the underwater stuff just looks too animated. But I think that’s the way it will be portrayed throughout, so we may have to get used to that. Also, the trailer probably revealed a little too much than we might have wanted to see. It was obviously great, but we might have gotten the entire film in just 5 minutes. For instance, Nicole Kidman’s Queen Atlana was revealed to be alive. The film might have given away a thrilling reveal just like that. But still, all in all a great trailer.

We got out first look at Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus who looks remarkable. Also, the Trench monsters bring in the horror touch that we were assuming from James Wan. The stand out for this trailer was the epic battle between Arthur and Black Manta. That was just sick! Totally bad-ass. Also, I think that it was a great move to give away the comic accurate Costume of Aquaman. That will obviously come towards the very end of the movie as Arthur seems to have gotten the Trident and is the King of Atlantis now. So there you have a big spoiler ending revealed right in the trailer!

But seriously, this film has what it takes to rise above all. Arthur clearly swims out of the darker world that Justice League brought him in, and he emerges to the bright light of the land. DC surely has a winner with this film.

The movie comes out on December 21, and here’s the official Synopsis:

“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.”
