The Rock Shares First Set Photo From ‘Hobbs And Shaw’

There are many who say that The Fate of the Furious was nothing more than remote control drone cars and ice sliding antics. But, even the most brutal of critics will not argue with the fact that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham were just fundamental in that movie and collected all the possible claps and whistles from the audiences. Fans across the world have been calling for an extended chapter between the two greats of this franchise and it’s easy to understand that why the prison break sequence was the highlight of the pic, with both them giving audiences the longest of laughs and the most electrifying thrills.

The wish of the fans seems to be heard by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as he is cooking something and he wants you to have a smell of it. The wrestler-turned-actor shared the very first picture from the sets of Fast & the Furious spin-off titled Hobbs and Shaw. The movie is going to focus on Dwayne Johnson’s US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs who is forming an unauthorized alliance with Statham’s Deckard Shaw.

The footsteps of David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick) in the Fast & the Furious franchise has been welcomed by Johnson perfectly with calling him a “visionary” but a “badass director” at the same time and also stated that Leitch is,

“Ready to evolve the franchise in exciting and fresh new ways.”

Dwayne’s comments reflect Leitch’s recent comments about his vision for the movie as he told Collider in an interview in May that,

“He wants to have his own take on the fast and the furious franchise.”

The Rock Hobbs and Shaw

“It’ll definitely have the elements of the original DNA, but it is more drifting in Shaw’s spy world and Dwayne’s agent world and, obviously, we want to build on their relationship, their conflict, their banter,” Leitch said,

“It seems the film will be more muscles than cars but fans should not worry as we can see a sopped-up-looking car in the picture Johnson shared on the internet.”

Which clearly shows us that they’ll not leave the cars too much behind the muscles.

There are some renowned names entering in the cast of this movie as Idris Elba playing an undisclosed role and the role of Vanessa Kirby has also been unspecified. The hopes are high as usual for the upcoming movie of the very popular series and once again a team of some talented humans like David Leitch, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Hiram Garcia, Jonathan Sela, Chris Morgan, and Gary Scott Thompson are on the sets of this project.

Hobbs and Shaw is an important and noteworthy first spin-off film in the long run of the Fast and the Furious franchise. The Franchise has spanned eight films over the course of 17 years with ninth and tenth installments queuing up for 2020 and 2021. Until this new project Hobbs and Shaw we all have seen Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) as the main man and operating all the lines in the movies but now the franchise wants to expand their main crew a little more.

The Rock is still finishing up the production for Disney’s Jungle Cruise, set to release in 2019. But, his recent tweet and picture of Leitch and Statham dressing to their personal best and waiting for Johnson for sure in front of a mouth-watering car. Director Leitch has also posted the same on his Instagram account and stated his own excitement by stating,

“Been waiting to work with @therock and @jasonstatham for far too long! THE TIME IS NOW! So Fired Up! He captioned the above mentioned photo which he posted on his Instagram.

With Johnson posting the first picture of the start of this new movie, it seems clear that the leading man of the franchise is Johnson and no wonder he’s the person who is leading the franchise to further heights. Johnson has been the man who is informing fans through his Instagram handle about every detail of the film as he was the one, who posted a video showing the finished script for the spin-off in October 2017. So, when Dwayne led the charge of the ring and of a movie surely we can expect something extremely beautiful to the heart and nerve wrecking to the flesh.
