MCU: The Soul Stone Location Was Revealed Way Back in The First Thor

The biggest movie of MCU came out this year and bludgeoned the entire Box Office. All the movies that came around it suffered majorly and it seems that the upcoming Avengers 4 will do the very same thing! While there are unlimited theories surrounding the internet about the upcoming finale event, it was the same case with Avengers: Infinity War and especially the aspect of the Soul Stone Location. The Avengers lost the first battle as they made a divided attack on Thanos, with Iron Man, fighting from Titan and Thor & Cap fighting from Wakanda, but the next time they see Thanos, he will be screwed!

Soul Stone Location Thor MCU

I can still remember the insane theories surrounding the location of the Soul Stone. Some suggested that it is either with Heimdall or Hela to finish the “THANOS” theory, some suggested that it has been lost in Space and time, which is why Thanos will need to use the Space Stone and the Time Stone to find it. A theory was able to predict the means to achieve the Soul Stone, as it suggested that Thanos will need to sacrifice a Soul for a Soul (stone) to get it, and that is what happened, but no theory was actually able to predict the location of the Stone!

The Soul Stone was at Vormir. As it turned out, Thanos had previously sent Gamora on a mission to find the Soul Stone and she did, but she lied to Thanos about it. Here, to save Nebula, she had to reveal the location to Thanos, and hence she took him there. Along with the revelation of the Soul Stone, another surprise package came as the Red Skull, who was now the guide for the Soul Stone at Vormir. Then he led Thanos to the stone, Gamora to her demise and lived happily ever after (or did he? We will find out for sure!)

While all of us applied so much of our brains into deducing the location of the Soul Stone, it turns out that it was there all along. We just didn’t know where, and what to look at! It was obviously never revealed that the Soul Stone was at “Vormir”, but we had seen Vormir twice before Thanos took an exclusive tour to the planet. Redditor GrandMoff_Harry recently posted Vormir’s image as he recently re-watched the first Thor movie. Have a look at the common cosmic planet which was there in the first Thor, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War:

The glowing dark planet you see in the back of every image, which has its own moon, was none other than Vormir. This planet obviously in a blink-and-a-miss moment, but it gives us the surety that everything that Marvel does is pre-planned! Thor came out back in 2011 so people might think that it was just a VFX thing which carried on in the future, but even if it was and Marvel made plans with it later, it is still cool as Marvel hides every big question in plain sight! They just have everything sorted and coordinated.

They hid a silhouette of Janet Van Dyne’s Wasp in the first Ant-Man film where he took a tour to the Quantum Realm for the first time, and the second movie was actually based entirely upon that little seed that Marvel planted. So it is just amazing to think how amazingly well does Marvel move forward. Feige recently revealed that Marvel has plans sorted till 2025, so they are always forward thinking! That is why the connections that they plant and reveal in later films always amazes the fan base!
