Infinity War Theory: Wakanda is Connected to the Soul Stone Afterall!

Avengers: Infinity War was surrounded by major theories even before it came out, and after having seen the movie, people have come up with even more fan theories about what happened in the film and what will happen in the coming future of the MCU. Out of the many theories that pointed towards the Soul Stone, there was just one that turned out to be partially right at the end.

The Soul Stone was at Vormir. This was predicted by no one but the way it could be retrieved was another theory going around the net. As it turned out, Thanos had previously sent Gamora on a mission to find the Soul Stone and she did, but she lied to Thanos about it. Here, to save Nebula, she had to reveal the location to Thanos, and hence she took him there.

Infinity War Theory Soul Stone Wakanda

The trailers for Infinity War teased the relationship between Thanos and his favorite daughter. So, this gave rise to a particular theory suggesting the reason why the Soul Stone has not appeared till now, is because it requires a big sacrifice of the soul of a loved one, a soul for a soul. This is what happened in the movie as Thanos sacrificed his loved daughter Gamora, the only person he loved in this universe to get the Soul Stone.

But there were so many other theories suggesting the location of the Soul Stone, and one of the most prevalent was the “THANOS” theory which suggested that all the Infinity Stones will be in places starting from each letter of the word Thanos but that was debunked by the writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as they called it to be pretty vague. One of the theories that they actually liked and thought would make sense was the “Wakanda” theory.

It stated that the Soul Stone is in fact in Wakanda as we saw the souls of all the previous Black Panthers in a world which was presumed to be the Soul World from the comics. But the creatives behind Avengers: Infinity War took a different and better direction and we got Vormir as the location for the Soul Stone. But what if the Wakanda theory could be partially right? What if Wakanda does have a connection to the Soul Stone? That would answer the mystery to Wakanda’s Soul Plane.

A theory by Redditor Jaustin40 has given a connection to how Wakanda’s Soul Plane could be related to the Soul Stone. It has everything to do with the strongest metal in the MCU, Vibranium:

“Is it possible that the Vibranium Meteor that hit Wakanda so long ago was a chunk of the planet Vormir? That could potentially explain the connection of the Vibranium to the Soul Plane. It would be interesting to see T’Challa in the Soul Plane in Avengers 4 explaining how he’s been here before. Perhaps even have Dr. Strange or possibly Gamora offer some insight as well?”

We did see baby Gamora end up in the Soul World towards the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers 4 will obviously explore the Soul World even further. Even if the Soul World does not have any relation to the Soul Plane in Wakanda, we could say that it is in fact pretty similar to the Soul World as those who ingest the heart-shaped herb which gives the Black Panther his powers are transported to a psychic realm inhabited by the spirits of the dead – which is very much like Soul World, as Thanos who made the ultimate sacrifice for the Soul Stone was able to talk to his daughter in the Soul World.

If Avengers 4 does end up establishing a connection like this then the movie would surely become interesting and the fans would be quite happy to know that they at least got something big right within the MCU. Avengers 4 will come out on May 3, 2019, and here’s the official Synopsis of the film:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
