Here’s Why Mad Titan Thanos Uses “Bubbles” In Avengers: Infinity War!

Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest movie Marvel has ever produced, and it has shattered box office records as it’s officially now the highest grossing superhero movie ever and the fastest title to reach $1 Billion i.e in just 8 days. It was surely the biggest thriller of any Superhero movie as it left us on a GOT level cliffhanger which we could have never expected.

It portrayed Thanos as the big bad of MCU and waiting for a decade to see him clash against the Avengers assemble was totally worth it. His motivations were justified, and he actually was the hero of his own story. His only purpose in life was to bring balance to the universe as the population is rising and resources are finite. So, in his twisted mind, the only way to restore balance was to exterminate half the life in the galaxy.

He is a powerful Cosmic creature but he is not the Ultimate god who can just make that happen. He went on a quest to collect six Infinity stones scattered across the universe. These stones are incredibly powerful individually but collectively they can literally make the wielder invincible.

Each stone represents a cosmic singularity that controls the fundamental aspect of existence. Once these ingots are assembled in a gauntlet, it is possible to wipe out entire planets at the snap of fingers.

As the Russos said, it was a heist movie where Thanos move from one place to another, steal Infinity stones and leave behind a trail of death and destruction. Here is what they said:

“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.

As we saw, Thanos was not just a Mad Titan who wants to destroy everything and everyone that comes in his way. His methods are brutal but he has a proper reasoning behind what he did. It was not right way as this does not give true meaning to life, and neither is it fair for the ones who died randomly. They did not get the equal chance to rejoice life, but since the Disintegration was random and necessary in Thanos’ mind, it had to happen.

Thanos was the only one who actually understood the crisis of the entire Universe when he survived a catastrophe on his own planet. He is not a heartless monster as we saw, he is capable of having every emotion a normal being has. Aside from being angry at the way things are in the Universe, he is capable of love, emotion, sorrow and even humor.

One of the reasons why Thanos is the greatest villains of all is because of the fact that at his heart, he is a human who really cares about things and knows the real value of everything. People were afraid that Marvel may turn Thanos into a joke adding quips with him as well. But they did not do that!

They did add a couple quips from Thanos as well, but more than pissing people off, they actually turned out to be amazing and really funny describing how Thanos also does have the knack for a bit of humor.

Those quips came with the scenes that involved bubbles. Thanos used bubbles twice in the movie, and while many of us found that to be really funny, some people are actually pissed that why would Marvel try to do something like this. Well, they are pissed maybe because of the fact that they don’t know Thanos has actually done that before, so having bubbles not once but twice acts as a mere Easter Egg.

In the movie, when Star-Lord tried to kill Gamora after Thanos had caught her, Thanos turned the laser beams from his blasters into bubbles using the Reality Stone. Secondly, on Vormir when Gamora tried to sacrifice herself using a dagger, Thanos even turned that into bubbles. So, getting pissed off seeing bubbles in these serious moments may be justified, but there is an impressive reasoning behind it.

For those of you who know about the video game Marvel vs. Capcom 2, you might have gotten this reference. In this video game, when Thanos actually hits someone, they were surrounded by a big bubble, and little bubbles would fly off every time the opponent takes a punch from Thanos! So this was a very smart and sneaky Easter Egg added by the Russos in the best way possible.

So this was an Easter Egg only hardcore video gamers, or the fans of Marvell vs. Capcom would understand.  But it was really genius of the Russos to use something like this and please fans.

Thanos definitely solves the villain problem that people talked about when it comes to MCU as till now, the Villains have not been really lethal as they did not manage to take down someone really important.

But Thanos actually did accomplish his mission, and unlike every other Marvel movie, this one did not have the cliché happy ending, rather it ended with all of us being emotional about the dying characters we have loved all this time. Even though we know that these disintegrated characters will be brought back somehow, but the stakes do feel incredibly real!
