Will Captain Marvel Have a Thanos and Black Order Appearance?

Marvel’s first movie to come out next year will feature their strongest hero Captain Marvel. Before we see her take on Thanos in Avengers 4, she will appear in her solo movie where she will fight off the Skrulls siding with the Kree. Since the movie is going to be based on the Kree-Skrull wars, we can imagine it to be a big cosmic event which will have its ties into the Avengers storyline in many areas.

Since Ronan and Korath are also going to make their return in the film, there may be a slight chance that we could actually see the likes of Thanos have an appearance in the movie. Till now, Thanos has only appeared in the Avengers movie and had a cameo in the first Guardians film. This could actually make his 5th Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance before he is defeated in the 6th one.

As we saw in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos is a pretty old guy who has been around for quite a while trying to accomplish his mission. His connection to Ronan was never explained in Guardians, it was just put out that Ronan works for Thanos. Perhaps Captain Marvel, which will be a prequel to Guardians as well would show us how Thanos would end up recruiting Thanos.

The Kree Skrull wars are going to be a major event and it would be surprising if a big Galactic Warlord who has been around doing his bidding for quite a while does not have a say in such a major event. When Thanos killed half the population on the Zehoberi planet, we saw that Gamora was just a little girl, so those events could actually be taking place around the time of Captain Marvel. On the Zehoberi attack, we saw that Ebony Maw was active, so perhaps if Thanos may have an appearance in Captain Marvel, it is also possible that the Black Order appears as well.

Another Easter Egg from the past could have a tie in here. Vigilant fans in Avengers: Infinity War spotted the Black Order member Cull Obsidian having a potential connection to Captain Marvel. During the battle of New York 2.0, it was apparent that Cull Obsidian has a sash hung around his waist. What drew the connection here was that it does look to be red and gold which are the trademark colors of Captain Marvel.

As we have seen in the leaked photos of Captain Marvel’s suit and even in the Avengers 4 concept art, she does not necessarily have her sash on her waist, but in one of the earlier Concept Arts released by Marvel, she actually did have that sash.

So, people actually believe that Captain Marvel will go toe to toe with Cull Obsidian in her own movie. But since she has to be established as the strongest Marvel character, Marvel cannot have her defeated at the hands of Thanos’ big grumpy son.

So, we could imagine that the original Captain Mar-Vell played by Jude Law might go up against Cull Obsidian, and ends up getting defeated. This lead Obsidian to take the sash and tie it around as a trophy. Who knows, this could actually have Thanos recruit him in his Black Order, seeing the result of the big fight against Mar-Vell, and claim him as one of his sons.

Given that each and every detail is looked into properly by Marvel, the sash thing would rather not be a coincidence. It does add up to the evidence that Thanos and the Black Order may have a sort of extended cameo appearance in Captain Marvel to explain things much better even though the movie will largely focus upon the Kree Skrull wars. It will tie up some of the loose ends may be.

Still, it will be unlikely that Thanos gets an appearance, but if he does, it could add another reason for Captain Marvel to join the Avengers against Thanos in Avengers 4. It will surely be a huge surprise if we do see Thanos and the Black Order appear in Captain Marvel.
