Avengers 4: Gamora’s Return Confirmed Along With The Time Travel Theory

We are still months away even from the first trailer of Avengers 4, so let’s not even talk about the time left for the movie to arrive. The way Avengers: Infinity War ended, the plot of Avengers 4 was left wide open for us to guess and there is just one out of 14 Million possibilities for the plot of the movie to unravel. After watching the horrific ending of Infinity War and getting a sneak peek at the various set photos of Avengers 4, the theory of Time Travel is more or less confirmed, and something which has been given away by the interviews of the various actors is the fact that almost all the characters who died and were disintegrated in the previous movie will somehow be returning in the upcoming finale event.

Avengers 4 Gamora Time Travel

Infinity War was full of Death and destruction. Heimdall began the death spree and he was followed by Loki. Then Gamora died at Vormir, Vision was killed by Thanos, and then came the moment we all feared. The big snap killed Bucky, T’Challa, Sam, Groot, Wanda, Star-Lord, Mantis, Drax, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Maria Hill and later on it was shown in Ant-Man and the Wasp that the Pym Family turned to dust and the ones who were confirmed to survive were Captain America, Thor, Natasha, Tony, Bruce, War Machine, Rocket, Nebula, Okoye, M’Baku, Shuri, Valkyrie, Romanda, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man.

Doctor Strange Thanos Avengers 4

Out of everyone who died, the first 4 characters to bite the dust ended up dying differently than the ones to follow. Well, the only thing common with their deaths was that they all were brutal and came literally at the hands of Thanos himself. Funny how Thanos was the one to kill everyone and the Black Order was almost useless! While Loki, Vision and even Heimdall suffered gruesome deaths, it is Gamora who we all sympathised with. She was the only person Thanos loved and to get the Soul Stone, he had to sacrifice her soul which led to him throwing her off a cliff.

The directors of the film have confirmed that what we saw at the end of the move right after the snap where Thanos goes and meets baby Gamora was the Soul World, so we can more or less say it pretty confidently that Gamora is in the soul world. So it is highly likely that Gamora would indeed be returning for a fact.

Zoe Saldana has already talked about shooting both movies way before Infinity War came out so she will be returning in Avengers 4. Now, an old Instagram post of around December 2017 – January 2018 shows Saldana all dressed up as Gamora ready for a shoot. Have a look:

Now people may think that this video may be of the reshoots of Infinity War, but at that point of time, Avengers 4 was under production and if you focus on her outfit, the design on the neck piece looks to be similar to the one she had in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. So this not only confirms Time Travel to take place in Avengers 4 yet again, but we now know for sure that Gamora will return and the time travel sequences will take the Avengers to the events of the first Guardians movie.

Theories suggest that Avengers 4 will revisit almost every movie that had an Infinity Stone. As it is pretty apparent that we will be seeing the Avengers visit the timeline of the first Avengers and the Guardians movies, the other movies that had Infinity Stones were Doctor Strange, Age of Ultron and Infinity War. The movie might not want to revisit Thor: The Dark World as it is considered to be the worst Marvel Cinematic Universe film so Marvel would want to distance themselves with that particular movie.

We’ll see what else happens in Avengers 4 which comes out on May 3, 2019. Here’s the synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences
to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this
reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
