We May Have Got The Confirmation That Hela Will Return in Avengers 4
Avengers: Infinity War had a huge cast which amazed audiences, and now Avengers will have an even bigger set of characters in it as the ones who missed their opportunity in Avengers: Infinity War and were previously dead also have a potential chance to be there in Avengers 4. It is going to be a mega-crossover event which will not only have more heroes but also more villains.
Given the upcoming set of heroes, we can assume that Thanos is gonna be all alone in the film. With the likes of Thor and Captain Marvel being there, Hulk being at his very best, Tony Stark probably bringing in an even more advanced suit than he did in Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America being in his prime, it is safe to say that Thanos is outgunned even if he has the Infinity Stones. He is going to need other villains to go against the Avengers.
There have been rumours that suggest that Red Skull is going to make a great comeback in Avengers 4. Crossbones may be returning as well, and even Ultron may also return. But the one team up that we did want to see ever since the villain of Thor: Ragnarok was Hela and Thanos. We did not get Lady Death in the MCU, which led to people thinking that her role may be switched with that of the Goddess of death.
Well, we may not have an intimate relationship between them because that was never set, built up, but the two could team up and take on the Avengers. Their powers combined would be too much for anyone to take on.
Unfortunately, she did not survive Ragnarok. But that does not mean she is dead. She is the Goddess of Death, so she just can’t die like that! Her arc felt incomplete. And since major dead characters are rumoured to be back in Avengers 4, it is safe to say that we may see the return of Hela as well. While there have been no confirmations yet, something that Cate Blanchett said in her recent interview teases the possibility of her return.

When asked about her return by Fandom, she replied “sure.” Her costar Jack Black, on Eli Roth-directed fantasy-comedy The House with a Clock steps into the conversation saying:
“You never actually saw her die. You just saw her go down in a giant ball of flame.”
Blanchett Replies:
“Yes. That looks pretty dead. That looks pretty dead. There’s always a way back, but I’m sure there’s always a way forward, who knows? Sure. I never say no to anything.”
She then talked about a team up with Thanos and confirmed that she would certainly like to do that saying, “That would be good.”
She talked about playing Hela with Comicbook.com earlier on;
“I think it’s very interesting to bring the concept of death into a world that’s ostensibly immortal. You know, you look at the Western world and in most cultures, Death has been banished from the world in which most Western people live. And as a result, I think it’s made life rather screwed up.”
In an interview that happened before Avengers: Infinity War, Mark Ruffalo revealed that he really enjoyed working with Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One) and Cate Blanchett (Hela), and the only movie where these three could have been together behind the scenes would certainly be the shoot of Avengers 4. So, not just Hela, but the Ancient One is also coming back from the dead.
With Time Travel involved, every dead character in the MCU has the potential to be back, even Coulson. So let’s just hope that Hela comes back because we need more of Cate Blanchett in MCU. We need to see her team up with Josh Brolin’s Thanos.
We will find out about it when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019. Here’s the synopsis:
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
