Captain Marvel: A Fan-Favorite Character Has Been Spotted in the Newly Released Poster

We’ve been waiting and waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the trailer of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel has been released and the fans couldn’t hide their excitement and curiosity regarding so many scenes of the trailer. But, the eagle-eyed fans saw something in the official poster of the movie. The poster features a Chewier Easter Egg, in reference to Carol Danvers’ cat which is an alien called a Flerken.

When Carol Danvers, left Earth to explore the universe, she took her cat named Chewie with her in the universe. When she encountered with the Guardians of the Galaxy, it was Rocket Raccoon who identified the cat as a “Flerken”. Chewie was a Flerkin and a very dangerous alien species similar to Earth’s cats. But, Rocket tried his best to kill her “before she could lay eggs” but Carol came in front of Rocket and stopped him from killing Chewie.

Some weeks later, Chewie got successful in laying almost 100 eggs at the time Captain Marvel’s ship was stormed by a goo-like hive. Danvers’ friend Tic, Rocket, and Chewie managed to fight off the aliens, while Chewie’s eggs got hatched and Carol Danvers’ took her all 117 offsprings to a rescue in the Trayvon Cluster. Danvers’ then decided to leave the Chewie and her offsprings there. But, Chewie teleported back the Danvers’ ship to help her.

Chewie is a Flerken, and they can have access to pocket dimensions located inside of their body. In these “bubbles”, they can have the ability to store a large number of things or objects, like eggs, fanged mouth and even tentacles at the time of the battle. They also use these subspaces as a medium of instantaneous transport ability although the process is very unhealthy to witness.

Captain Marvel is going to be the twenty-first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. With Kevin Feige saying that he and Marvel were impressed with both Boden and Fleck’s ability to create character-driven stories in all their works. He added, “The stories they’ve told have been so diverse, but regardless of the subject matter, they can dive into and hone in on that character’s journey.

“ Ultimately, Feige felt the film “needs to be about three-dimensional, multilayered Carol Danvers character. You have to be able to track her and follow her and relate to her at all points of the movie, regardless of how many bad guys, space ships or visual effects are there in the frame.”

Devan Coogan of the Entertainment Weekly called the trailer “a powerful introduction to the MCU’s first solo female superhero film.” Graeme McMillan of The Hollywood Reporter noted that Nick Fury’s narration dominates the first half of the trailer which “grounds the trailer in something-someone-familiar for the Marvel faithful, and lays the groundwork for Carol Danvers’ first words.”

He also noted that the film’s apparent departure from its’ comic book origins would remove “the self-determination and agency of Carol Danvers”, which was “a risky proposition” to long-time fans of the character and felt this version of the character would not show up until the end of the film. McMillan also worried Captain Marvel would be mostly a prologue to the “Avengers 4” opening two months after it.

Captain Marvel is going to be the first Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures-distributed film not to be stream on Netflix. As after Disney decided to let their licensing deal with Netflix expires. Disney plans on releasing Captain Marvel on their own streaming service. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 8, 2019, in IMAX and 3D. It was originally scheduled for the release on July 6, 2018. Before moving in February 2015 to November 2, 2018, to accommodate Spider-Man: Homecoming and in October 2015, it moved again to accommodate Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The fans are waiting for the movie with all their hearts and minds as it’s going to throw light on the most talkative superhero of the moment. With Captain Marvel turning into Galaxy’s mightiest superheroes and joining the Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning to home with new questions about her past and identity when Earth got in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.
