Avengers 4 is currently going through reshoots and will be done with them until the next month. The time which will follow is going to have the Russos deeply involved in the Post Production. According to what Anthony Russo said, Marvel has probably given them a deadline, and they are going to complete the movie in March. So, the film would be ready for us almost two months before its theatrical release! That is when Marvel will begin the test screenings, and then in April, they will have the world premiere similar to what happened in Avengers: Infinity War.
For now, the latest update on the movie has been the mysterious image that the Russos asked us to look hard upon. Since Kevin Feige mentioned the fact that the title for Avengers 4 will be revealed after Captain Marvel’s first trailer gets released, almost everyone thought that the Russos are actually giving us a hint at the title. Again the mysterious image was presumed as another hint to reveal Endgame as the title for the film.
But we all know that’s not true. We can be sure of the fact that Endgame is not the title as if the Russos confirm it after so many months, it would just make no sense at all and would feel just wrong & even stupid at the same time. But the fans have figured out what this tweet by the Russos was asking us to look for. It is the giant device that can be seen in the back of the picture and we also saw that device lying around the Avengers facility in Infinity War.
While people thought that giant machine is actually some kind of a device that may help the Avengers in the BARF tech which is going to have a role in the movie, or it may be linked to the arm devices that they are wearing in other set photos, one eagle-eyed fan has determined a big connection that this machine has with James Rhodes aka War Machine.
War Machine has got some remarkable upgrades throughout the film, having got a new guns almost every movie, an Iron Patriot suit and even a sword. His armour in Infinity War was amazing, but there seem to be some serious upgrades to his armor for Avengers 4. It just looks more buffed up and packed with even more weapons than the last time. But what if stark installs Nanotech in his armour as well. That does seem to be the case, because only then can his Proton Cannon fit into his new suit. Yes, fans have linked the mysterious large machine in the tweeted photo to actually be War Machine’s Proton Canon. Have a look:
People have been wondering the reason for War Machine to be left alive after the snap of Avengers: Infinity War. They have been wondering so much as all other sidekicks turned to ash. It is not like he will have some huge story arc to carry out in Avengers 4. It is War machine, he is supposed to be there to look bad-ass and nothing more! So that’s what he is gonna do. Perhaps this would be the only time War Machine will really have the “Big Gun” that was referenced in Iron Man 2! This proton canon looks to be some next level deal, and we’d surely love to see it.
The fact that it was lying around Rhodes in Avengers: Infinity War is also an evidence to the fact that this is the Proton Canon that Stark might have been working on before Avengers: Infinity War. It sure does look pretty identical. But why will the Russos tease a Proton Canon for War Machine? The way he was used in Infinity War, it is hard to imagine that he would have something more than that in Avengers 4. So, the mystery may still be unsolved. It will only be solved as time passes, and we get to see Avengers 4 in the theatres.
It comes out on May 3, 2019, and here’s the official Synopsis:
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
