Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest MCU’s ensemble movie that fans have waited for almost a decade. It was the beginning of the culmination of events that have happened in the MCU over 18 movies. It was a massive undertaking but Russos pulled off a masterful thriller that has redefined the genre itself. The movie has become the highest superhero movie ever with $2.1 Billion in total box-office earnings worldwide.
Thor is undeniably the strongest Avenger but the close second has to be Doctor Strange. He is the Sorcerer Supreme who has mastered magic and mystic arts. He had it all figured out right from the beginning. When he went to outer space with Tony, he told him that he has vowed to safeguard ‘Time Stone’ at all costs, so if ever he must choose between him or Stone, he would choose latter.
But when push came to shove, he traded Time stone with Stark’s life during the battle at Titan. It’s quite possible that Iron Man is instrumental in that one scenario (out of 14 million plus) where Avengers defeat Thanos.
In the exclusive digital edition of Infinity War, it is revealed that Strange hid the ‘Time Stone’ in the stars that are beyond the reach of Thanos.
“We should also do a shout-out,” screenwriter Christopher Markus said. “It’s one of the storyboard guys, but hiding the stone in the stars, I don’t know whose it was.”
“It was Darrin [Delinger], I believe,” co-director Joe Russo said.
“Yeah, I can’t remember if that came out of storyboards or visual effects, but I don’t know,” co-director Anthony Russo said. “But I love it, and have been delighted by it for a long time now.”
The entire MCU’s Creative team is excited about Avengers 4 which will be the culmination of all plot points, character arcs, and unresolved mysteries.
Here’s what they said:
“I feel like with Avengers 4, because it was made before there was any response to Avengers 3, it’s really pure in that regard. The storytelling is very pure. It’s without any sort of external noise creeping in at,” Joe Russo told Deadline during SDCC 2018.
He added: “We’ve been in post-production on [Avengers 4] since the release of Infinity War and we’ve got some additional photography that we’re doing in a month or so.”
“You know, we’re very proud of it. I think ultimately Avengers 4 may be our best work for Marvel. I think we’ve grown with every movie that we’ve made there. We’ve grown with the characters. We’ve grown with the cast. As filmmakers we’re very happy and very excited with the movie.”
The brief synopsis for Avengers 4 reads:
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
The movie’s ensemble cast is unbelievably awesome as it assembles A-list of actors including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Pratt (Starlord), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lily (Wasp), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon) etc.
The official movie synopsis for Infinity War is as follows:
“Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.
