Major Avengers 4 Theory Confirmed by Ant-Man and the Wasp Director

The whole world is waiting for the final movie of Phase 3, Avengers 4 after Infinity War stunned us all with the horrific dark ending it had to portray. It has given us countless theories to consider but the biggest theory of all has been that Avengers 4 is going to be a major Time Travel event. From there on theories of Time Vortexes, alternate Universes and many other things came into play. Ant-Man and the Wasp more or less established that Time Travel is going to be a major plot point in Avengers 4, and now the Director of the movie has confirmed that.

From what we have seen from the set photos, we know for sure that Time Travel will come into play through the Quantum Realm as space and time are irrelevant in the Quantum realm. Also theories suggest that the Time Vortexes which are a part of the Quantum Realm will also come into play, and Ant-Man will possibly be the first one to go through one of the Time Vortexes since he is already stuck in the Quantum Realm.

Here’s what Director Peyton Reed very carefully said about Time Travel in Avengers 4 in his latest interview with The Huffington Post:

“Based on the science that we’ve set up in the first movie and this one, I won’t rule out the possibility. Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex. That could happen. I have to be careful here, as you well know.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp Director Avengers 4

Well, he could obviously not share any other details since those would have been major spoilers for Avengers 4, but this is our first official confirmation for Time Travel in Avengers 4. And this is the confirmation that based on all the sciences established in the movie, Quantum Realm will be majorly used for Time Travel.

The Quantum realm is

“The reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant as you shrink for all eternity. This means that if Ant-Man can shrink down to the smallest of the small, he will enter this nothing, this non-reality. All of time and space will be open to him. He could literally change the universe around him Dr. Manhattan-style. And he could traverse time at will.”

Feige said that it is a multi-layered dimension, hence deeper you go, more the laws of time and space will bind you. Here’s what Feige said:

“Ultimately you wanna have an emotional reunion with Michael Douglas, an emotional reunion with Evangeline Lily and our first instinct had always been specifically now Michelle Pfeiffer from that first movie.  It felt like it should be somebody who’s the right age.  As opposed to Michael Douglas with somebody who has not aged.  Or Evangeline Lilly connecting with somebody who’s not aged.  That just adds another layer of sort of sci-fi weirdness.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp quantum-realm

After Ant-Man and the Wasp came out, Director Peyton Reed talked about the fact that Lang went into Quantum realm one more time to collect healing particles and then he lost contact with Team Pym as they turned into dust post-Thanos snap. Subsequently, it appeared on screen that Ant-Man and Wasp shall return with a “Question mark”. And Reed talked about this cliff hanger along with the many Easter Eggs that were there in the movie. he said:

“Yeah, there’s a lot of little-hidden things. I mean, definitely as you go through Hank Pym’s laboratory, on the practical set and then some of the stuff we added later digitally, there are a lot of weird, little Easter eggs and things. And then as we kind of go further down into the Quantum Realm in this movie, there definitely is some things to sort of look for. That was a challenge, the Quantum Realm, ’cause it really could be infinite. It could be anything. And figuring out how much of our story took place in the Quantum Realm and particularly like designing that last act that cross-cuts between the chase and the Quantum Realm. But there’s stuff to look for in there definitely.”

We will find out for sure when Avengers 4 finally comes out on May 3. Here’s the official Synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
