The Real Father of Tony Stark Is Revealed And It’s Not Howard Stark!

For years, we were fed a white lie. Tony Stark, the genius and billionaire playboy of the Marvel Universe who also happens to be the armored Avenger Iron Man, actually had a deep dark secret that involves his very origin story. As it turns out, Tony Stark’s father is not who you think he was.

Everyone believed Tony Stark was the son of Industrialist Howard Stark, but that is actually not the truth. Marvel Comics has recently revealed the real biological father of Tony Stark. This will blow your mind away!! Presenting Marvel Comics Update – The Real father of Tony Stark is revealed and it is not Howard Stark!!!!

Spoiler Alert – MAJOR Spoilers for Invincible Iron Man #600 up ahead. Enter at your own risk….

Ever since Tony Stark became a major ingredient of the Marvel Universe and Marvel Comics number one spice, his origin story has been Iron Clad and set in stone. And since Marvel Comics takes pride in mutilating historical facts of its own universe, it has again rewritten the parental lineage of Tony Stark. Howard Stark, as it turns out, was not the one who shared the other chromosome with his wife to conceive Tony Stark.

Tony Stark’s mother, Amanda Armstrong, was a former rock star who later was recruited into Shield where she became a Shield Undercover agent. She would then later marry Howard Stark to keep up her secret double life all the while reporting to shield about various developments.

Using her position as the wife of a weapons maker as a cover, Amanda could easily get close to delegates and locations that are inaccessible to Shield and military forces. That gave Amanda a unique and highly lucrative cover that she used to her fullest to extract vital information and intelligence that no other man or woman was capable of retrieving. Amanda would later meet the real love of her life in one of his secret agent adventures. This is when Tony’s origin story changed for the better or for worse.

Amanda has since slipped into a come during the events of Civil War II. Tony Stark’s biological parents’ mystery was resolved actually much, much later in Brian Michael Bendis’ run on Iron Man. Amanda was the wife of a prominent industrialist and so had access to international privileges. She could cross borders into hostile countries to attend ‘parties’ all the while gathering information for the SHIELD.

After Tony was born, she would give him up for adoption. It was only in Civil War II that Tony Stark and Amanda Armstrong had their first reunion. But that too was cut short when Captain Marvel would put him into a coma in a fight between the two that happened right after the said event.

Before Tony was put into a coma, Amanda revealed to him that his father was not Howard Stark but someone else. She could only reveal that he was a secret Shield agent just like her. But as it turns out, that is indeed only half the truth. Tony’s real father’s name was Jude and he was not just an agent of SHIELD. He was, in reality, a double agent who worked for Shield and also for Hydra. Jude would pass on critical Shield intelligence to Hydra from time to time. Tony’s father was actually…a traitor.

Amanda also left another critical little detail. According to her, Jude was dead so there was no point in revealing another fact about Tony’s real father. Amanda was the one who killed Jude. When she found out about Jude’s treachery, she personally stabbed him to death while she was still pregnant with Tony in order to ensure Tony is never sucked into the web of Hydra. But as fate would have it, Jude is not that easy to kill.

Amanda would later escape with baby Tony to America, and away from the clutches of Jude and Hydra. Hydra survived Shield and made headway into the 21st Century. Cut off One head and two more shall take its place. Jude being one of Hydra’s staunchest members; took that lesson to hurt.

He later shows up in Iron Man #600. Amanda and Jude’s standoff is just as tense as the last one. Mary Jane Watson enters the scene in the very next moment and manages to shoot the guy in the shoulder. Jude would later call in the Hydra agents in waiting outside the room for backup. As the Hydra agents rush in, Iron Man arrives to the scene along with Leonardo da Vinci and the Brotherhood of the Shield to save the ladies from harm.

Howard Stark was played by a slew of actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character was played by Dominic Cooper in Captain America. The talented Dan Slattery played an aged Howard Stark in Captain America: Civil War.  Gerard Sanders too portrayed Howard Stark as a younger version of the character in the 2008 movie Iron Man.

Howard Stark’s first official appearance was in Captain America: The First Avenger. The movie was released on 29 July 2011. The official movie synopsis reads:

It is 1941 and the world is in the throes of war. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wants to do his part and join America’s armed forces, but the military rejects him because of his small stature. Finally, Steve gets his chance when he is accepted into an experimental program that turns him into a supersoldier called Captain America. Joining forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Captain America leads the fight against the Nazi-backed HYDRA organization.

Tony Stark’s real father, the Hydra Agent that goes by the name ‘Jude’ is yet to appear in the MCU. If you ask us, he never will. It will just convolute the plotline and the timeline of the MCU and Iron Man even more. For now, the possibility of Jude entering the MCU looks bleak. Jude will stay within the pages of the comic books, to be precise, in the pages of Invincible Iron Man. Maybe one day, we will see him in the movies too.

What role will this new facet of Tony Stark’s life play in the future Iron Man story arcs?? Jude has been watching his son from the shadows and waiting for the perfect moment to come into the light. He has his moment now. Will Iron Man join Hydra or will he follow his mother’s route and stay the Good Guy all the way. There is a thin line that has been drawn now.

After the events of Civil War 2, the loyalties of Tony Stark are at question. He went against the government and Captain Marvel when he lost his good friend War Machine to Thanos. He is now a lost man, a broken figurehead in the comic books. What path he takes now will probably lead to his final destiny in the days to come. Not much could be drawn from this cliffhanger style conclusion. Tony’s father sure has chosen the perfect moment to strike. Will Dan Slott’s new Iron Man title run Tony Stark: Iron Man series reveal new facts about Tony Starks’ secret origin story? Only time will tell.

Iron Man first appeared in the MCU in Iron Man of 2008. The movie’s official film synopsis reads:

A billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), is conducting weapons tests overseas, but terrorists kidnap him to force him to build a devastating weapon. Instead, he builds an armored suit and upends his captors. Returning to America, Stark refines the suit and uses it to combat crime and terrorism.

Robert Downey Junior’s latest appearance as Tony Stark aka the Iron Man was in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest movie Avengers: Infinity War. Avengers: Infinity War is already in theaters. The official film synopsis reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
