Avengers Infinity War was arguably one of the greatest movies to ever come out of the Marvel cinematic universe. Although the movies did not do much in terms of story or groundbreaking action, the movie did fulfill a lot of fan expectations and did very well at the box office. The movie is also a fitting beginning of the end of the first batch of movies for the Marvel cinematic universe, it marked the beginning of the end of the franchise’s first-ever series arc. We have been teased with the possibility of the Mad Titan and the infinity gauntlet ever since the inception of the first Thor movie (cue the infamous Thor Asgard vault scene where you see the infinity gauntlet in the background) and we have patiently waited for the studio executives and writers to slowly and painfully assimilate characters to finally culminate the entirety of the Marvel cinematic universe into this beautifully presented two-part series finale called Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
As exciting as that sounds, the fans were a little than more disappointed when we did not see some major characters take part in the events of Infinity War, one of the characters so missing from Infinity War was none other than Ant-Man (and the Wasp !?).
Anyone who’s read a comic knows what Hank Pym is truly capable of. He’s probably one of the most intelligent human beings in the Marvel multiverse and possesses an inventive mind that is on par with any other so-called “geniuses” that are revered throughout the Marvel multiverse. Hence it is rather obvious that if the Avengers are to have any hope to take down the Mad Titan (with or without the infinity gauntlet) in Avengers 4 then they desperately need the help of Hank Pym, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The Pym particles are peculiar isotopes that can radically alter the size of any object (organic or inorganic) granting the object immaculate size and in the case of humans unimaginable strength. It is this scientific prowess that will help the Avengers to take the fight to the Mad Titan in Avengers 4. After all, Hank Pym is arguably more intelligent than all of the S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists put together (as inferred from the events of Ant-Man 1 and the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer where we clearly see Hank Pym running from the authorities after Scott lang’s capture during the events of civil war).
Taking all the aforementioned facts into consideration it is rather obvious that the mind of Hank Pym will be indispensable during the events of Avengers 4. We have already speculated that the OG Avengers may try to travel back in time to alter the events of Marvel’s The Avengers to shut down Thanos before he can get his footing or locate the infinity stones. But to alter the events of the New York battle the Avengers need to first create the time travel devices. Any science nerd will tell you that physics dictates that time travel is impossible for the simple reason that mass cannot be less than zero and it is arguably impossible to move faster than the speed of light.
The physics nerds argue that nothing with mass can achieve time travel because the math foes not work. But what if your mass existed and did not at the same time. What if the object that needed to be shot through time was something with a negligible mass, what if the time travel was to be achieved at a quantum level !!
For the uninitiated let me re-iterate. You see, we already know that the original Wasp (vis a vis Hank Pym’s wife in the Marvel cinematic universe) was lost in the quantum realm and it is highly likely that the Ant-Man and Wasp movie will explore this concept of the quantum realm even further.
A new theory making the rounds on Marvel forums suggest that this quantum realm will be further expanded on during the events of Ant-Man and Wasp and there will be point during the end of either Ant-Man and Wasp or the start of Avengers 4 where our heroes will achieve total control over the shift between quantum and physical realm allowing them to create time travel devices which will be used by the Avengers to safely travel back in time to the events of Marvel’s The Avengers and alter the outcome of the New York battle allowing them to establish (hopefully) a lasting victory against the might of the Mad Titan with the help of Ant-Man, Wasp and Hank Pym himself.
