10 Huge Mistakes In Avengers Infinity War That Could Have Been Avoided

Avengers Infinity War is going strong across major markets and has become a sensation amongst Marvel fans who are going gaga over it. And they should celebrate this magnum opus as it took everything on the part of Marvel to create this massive comic-book event known as Infinity War.

Avengers Infinity War

The movie has already crossed $640 million in its opening weekend which is a new record in the history of cinema. Within just 11 days, it managed to cross a magical figure of $1 Billion and it is incredibly poised to become the first-ever summer blockbuster to breach $2 Billion. Without an iota of doubt, Russo brothers have pulled off a masterpiece which will stand the test of time. It is an ultimate thriller with so many fan-pleasing moments that you can’t help but praise the movie in glowing terms.

Having said that, this is not a perfect comic-book movie and it does have its flaws. Presenting 10 mistakes that Marvel could have avoided:

Black Order is wasted:

Black Order is one of the terrifying fighting force in Marvel comics. It comprise of cosmic creatures handpicked by Thanos from the darkest corners of the universe. They were supposed to be scary bad given their insane powers, but they were treated as a gang of assassins instead of world killers.

For instance, Ebony Maw is the most dangerous general of Thanos who took down Illuminati, toppled entire planets etc. but he died as Spiderman has watched too many movies. Further, Corvus Glaive is known as the “Merciless” who defeated Hulk, almost took down X-Men, escaped Thane when Thanos couldn’t but he is coming from a back door to steal Mind stone off Vision’s forehead. His wife Proxima Midnight took down Atlantis city, killed Glaive, saved the multi-verse but she got pinned down by the likes of Black Widow. Is this some kind of a joke?

Real stakes is a myth:

The Marvel fans and loyal critics can continue to peddle misinformation that the Avengers Infinity War had real stakes as the movie killed half its superheroes when Thanos snapped his fingers. But we know that most of those heroes are coming back as their sequels have already been announced. For instance, Spiderman: Homecoming 2 is coming out right after Avengers 4, so the entire emotional scene between Stark and Peter where he knew that something is wrong (because of his spider-sense) but he is still fighting it really struck a chord but guess what it is inconsequential.  It’s the case with many other heroes too.

Gamora acted against her own beliefs:

The most loved daughter of Thanos and a member of GOTG acted in stark contradiction to her own ideology. On one hand, she said to Starlord (her partner cum lover) to kill her if it comes to saving her or humanity; on the other hand, she gave up the location of Soul stone the moment Thanos started to torture her sister Nebula. When push came to shove, she chose to protect an individual over untold damage that Thanos did using Infinity stones.

Stone bearers never use their power:

It’s just amazing to see that people who have Infinity stones before Thanos snatched it from them never used it to their advantage. Vision had Mind stone literally embedded in his forehead, how about using the stone to its fullest extent. Also, we know that Strange foresaw 14 million plus outcomes and everytime Avengers lose except one time. But how come he never saw it coming already and prepared the cavalry right from the start.

Misleading Marketing:

Marvel is raking in the moolah as the audience is lining up in droves to catch a glimpse of their favorite heroes, but make no mistake this success is based on misleading marketing campaign orchestrated by Marvel Studios. There are entire scenes that are missing from the movie but were part of trailers & tv spots. For instance, the money shot where Steve Rogers is leading “Secret Avengers” in Wakanda including Hulk but in reality Bruce Banner never turned to Green monster after he got the royal beating from Thanos at the beginning of the movie.

Clunky First half of the movie:

Calling ‘Avengers Infinity War’ an epic masterpiece will be factually incorrect, it was just its second half that really exuded epicness while the first part was all over the place and lacked coherence. In fact, at the time of interval, fans felt if the hype was indeed real or not.

Hawkeye and Ant-Man absent:

When fans questioned the absence of Hawkeye and Ant-Man, they denied it and called them ‘rumors’. Well, apparently both of them were not just missing from the trailers but from the movie too. And the reason was just frivolous and disappointing i.e they accepted the deal offered by the government and opted for house arrest.

Loki’s death was too predictable:

Loki is always touted as ‘God of Mischief’, someone who can outsmart and outwit anyone and come out on top. He faked his death and impersonated King Odin while banishing the real ‘Odin’. He stole Space stone from Asgard, did’nt tell his brother, saw how Thanos killed Heimdall and beat the crap out of Hulk, but his best defense was a little knife. Well, he really ran out of tricks and paid a price with his life.

How did Thanos acquire Power Stone?

The movie picked up the pieces of Thor: Ragnarok where Thanos’ Sanctuary II blocked Thor’s vessel carrying remaining Asgardians after Ragnarok’s prophecy came true. At that point, Thanos already had an Infinity stone but there was no scene where it was shown as to how Mad Titan actually laid his hands on the ‘Orb’.

What happened to Sokovia Accords?

The world is facing an existential threat from Thanos and his forces but there is no coordination among global security agencies. In a scene, it was shown Rhodey aka War Machine just ignores General Ross and then hanging around with Team Rogers at Wakanda. Granted, this is no time to regulate and monitor the activities of superheroes, but it should have been explained.
