Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest movie of this year and it is going to make history at the box office. Disney and Marvel will make and break so many records with this movie. Even though the movie did not get a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it still had no effect what so ever on the box office. And with the pace this movie is going with, there is nothing that could slow it down.
Even after having so many characters bringing in their own Story arcs into this massive film, the directors were able to pull off a story that was the biggest surprise for everyone watching it at the theatre. It turned out to be the biggest thriller even after having countless story aspects from the past converge into one epic story. No one could have predicted the entire story of this film and that is what was really great about it.
Marvel has always been huge at the Box Office as it took its time establishing itself, and now it has become the biggest brand of Hollywood officially surpassing even Star Wars. The first Avengers movie literally broke the Box Office creating history by becoming the highest earning Superhero movie domestically and Worldwide. It stood at $623 Million at the Domestic Box Office, and a total of $1.5 Billion worldwide! Recently Black Panther took over the reins from the Avengers as it stands at $688 Million at the Domestic Box Office.
Now, looking at the Speed Infinity War is moving, it seems that all other Superhero movies will soon be wiped from the face of the box office list and half the movies will be pushed down to create balance in the leaderboard. It has already begun to decimate other movies as Infinity War has already broken the record for the highest grossing movie in the opening weekend in all aspects.
With so much money brought in by Black Panther, people had their doubts with Avengers: Infinity War, that if the movie turns out to be a teeny tiny bit of disappointment, then it may not even be able to beat the Panther, let alone beating the Avengers and Star Wars. But thankfully, our wish has been granted by us ourselves. Avengers: Infinity War is now officially the biggest movie of all time when it comes to the opening weekend gross. It managed to beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens which seemed far out of the reach of anyone at the domestic box office for the opening weekend.
Star Wars Episode VII stood at $247.9 Million for the first three days, but Infinity War brought in an insane $260 Million in the Opening weekend at the domestic Box Office. Just imagine that Justice League’s entire Box Office run in the US ended at $228 Million, and the Avengers took it down in less than 3 days. In 3.5 days, Infinity War took down the entire Box Office run of Justice League which stood at $656 Million worldwide.
Now, the Box Office numbers for Infinity War stand at $857 Million worldwide in just 6 days. So let’s just do a headcount of the MCU movies that have been taken down till now, and then we will move to other studios. Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Incredible Hulk have been crushed like insects.
Other than these, all X-Men movies, and the best origin stories at the hands of Sony and WB (DC) have also been taken down. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are out of the race, and the best Superhero movie of 2017, Wonder Woman has also been taken down with ease as it stands at $821 Million.
Infinity War has the capability to take down the entire Box Office run of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and give Titanic & Avatar competition grossing over $2 Billion. Let’s see what this movie does as it has Billion Dollar competitors coming in the name of Deadpool 2, and Solo: A Star Wars Story which may hinder the earnings of Avengers: Infinity War.
