Infinity War: Who Is Rumored To Die, Who Will Surely Die And Who Will Live To Tell The Tale?

With the coming storm of Infinity War, the MCU is getting ready for the arrival of Thanos the Mad Titan, the harbinger of Death of the Marvel Universe. In his quest for the Infinity Stones, he will trample and kill everyone who dares stop his rampage. The Earth’s mightiest heroes will never know what hit them.

For all the plot pointers mark towards death and destruction of the highest order, chaos of an unprecedented level will soon ensue. Who will survive Infinity War? Who will live and who will die? We have the final list about the superheroes that are rumored to die, who will surely die and who will live to tell the tale?? So let us begin….

Who is rumored to die in the movie?

Vision and Doctor Strange each possess an Infinity Stone and they are primary targets of Thanos. The trailers showed both heroes in the clutches of the bad guys. Vision was pinned down and the Mind Stone forcibly removed from his head while Doctor Strange was captured by Ebony Maw in a torture scene.

But the reality is both are okay. Vision was seen in the movie’s third act in the Wakandan Battle, with the mind stone still attached to his head. Doctor Strange will be starring in Phase 4’s Doctor Strange sequel so MCU won’t let him get a scratch for now.

The two most likely to die are Captain America and Iron Man. Chris Evans is nearing the end of his contract and Marvel might be looking for a way to let him go. Tony Stark’ RDJ is also another candidate. The entire Iron Man’s arc was being prepped for making Tony ready to lead the Avengers against Thanos. But after that, his future prospects in the MCU look bleak.

Who will most likely die?

There are several characters that are definitely going to die in Infinity War. The Asgardian refugee ship in the end of Thor: Ragnarok contains many such candidates. Heimdall will die and so will Loki. Both are unlikely to survive Thanos’ wrath. The Collector, who possesses the Reality Stone, is a secondary character and he is all but done for. Xandar protects the Power Stone with all their might but when Thanos comes knocking, we doubt even the planet survives the ordeal, let alone the populace.

Another most likely character to die is Gamora. Gamora has been the center of a fan theory that says Thanos already possesses the Soul Stone before he comes to Earth. And the reason is that he had to sacrifice someone close to him to do so. In a Flashback scene, Gamora was seen holding Thanos’ hands. Thanos and Gamora share a close relationship and Gamora might just be a sacrifice for Thanos to acquire the Soul Stone.

Who will live?

The Ant-Man and the Wasp survive. All the Original Avengers – Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, the Hulk, Thor and Iron Man were already seen on the sets of Avengers 4. So they at least make it to the sequel although it just might be a time travel sequence.

Black Panther will also survive since the sequel is already in the pipeline. Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine and Spiderman also survive Infinity War. Of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the only known members who are confirmed to live to Avengers 4 are Drax, Star-Lord, and Groot. That’s right folks. Even Rocket is under the guillotine for now.

So that’s what it is, my fellow nerds. There are no major deaths in Infinity War. No matter how anticipated the movie is or how major the event could be, Marvel just won’t budge on Superhero Deaths. There is just no way Marvel is getting of the high horse on this one, even if it is Thanos who comes knocking. Maybe they will settle it with a dance-off in the end after all.

But kidding aside, the Russos have warned us that Thanos is like Genghis Khan of Darth Vader of MCU who will unleash absolute carnage and horror upon humanity and defeating him will require sacrifices. They said:

“This is it. Thanos is an unstoppable villain he’s virtually invincible, he’s highly intelligent – genius level intelligent – he’s like the Genghis Khan of the universe, and to stop him it’s going to cost them a lot. They’re going to have to see if they’re willing to pay that price, and that’s what these movies are really about. What we want is for the audience to be prepared, as there’s a lot of surprises – there’s going to be a lot of humor and a lot of heartbreak.”

“For us, it’s very important that the heroes feel pain and that they make sacrifices because I think that, not only is a great storytelling, but it also is inspiring and I think we need a lot of inspiration in this world right now. So, for us, I don’t know if we can ever get you to accept it, but I promise you this: we’ll do our best to tell you the best story possible, and what you do with it from there is up to you.”

“We love being told good stories, and we love telling good stories, and all of our energy, and our effort, and our thought, and our passion goes into telling the best story that we can. And for us, the best stories have stakes. Characters have to make sacrifices. To really, really feel the true emotion and the hero’s journey they have to go through trials and those trials could cost them something.”
