Avengers Infinity War: Here’s Where ‘Avengers’ Will Be During The Start of The Movie

Avengers: Infinity War will bring in every major Marvel Superhero there is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe into one huge and grand production. There will be around 67 major comic-book characters in Infinity War, of which half of them are superheroes. Infinity War is a movie a decade in the making, the same decade where Marvel has already completed it’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the MCU.

Marvel Studios’ Phase 1 movies saw the starting of separate hero franchises that grew and joined hands while Phase 2 saw the heroes decided to go their separate ways after there was a clear difference of ideology and ethics. Several new, non-Avengers superheroes were introduced in this period and while most of them have made it into the mainstream Avengers movies.

There are still many who haven’t. With the beginning of the end of Phase 3 with Infinity War, let’s have a quick recap of the 18 MCU movies till now. Here’s where every Avengers member will be at the start of the movie….

We suggest you take notice to the fact that the following paragraphs take into consideration the official Infinity War prelude comics released by Marvel Comics for Infinity War. The information is thought to be canon for now but we still can’t be sure until Infinity War hits the screens.

Captain America is now a ‘War Criminal’. After the events of Civil War, Cap surrendered his shield and his name and became a fugitive. Cap is now seen wearing the Nomad suit from the comic books. He now leads an international strike team or Secret Avengers that still do missions to save the planet. The prelude comics recently showed Team Cap’s core members in action. They were last seen trying to stop a Syrian terrorist group armed with advanced Chitauri Weapons from wreaking further havoc.

Black Widow is now one of Cap’s closest allies. She was originally a part of Team Iron Man and in favor of the Sokovia Accords. She later turned on his own teammates, was imprisoned along with them and later freed by Cap to meet Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers later on only to team up with them and become an on the run superhero. Falcon is also in Team Cap after siding with Rogers in Civil War. After being freed from the Raft, he is now a part of Cap’s covert ops team.

Bucky has been cured of his deadly Hydra Brainwashing. Shuri has supposedly cured him of his mental ailments. Bucky is now called the White Wolf and all he requires to join in the fight is a new Vibranium infused left arm. Ant Man’s status will only be known for sure after Ant-Man and the Wasp releases later on. For now, Ant-Man is best described as a fugitive under surveillance. Scarlet Witch is in hiding after Civil War and Hawkeye has retired and is now living the quiet life with his family (for now).

Iron Man is the face of the Avengers. He has publicly declared his engagement to Pepper Potts and is now actively looking for new heroes to fight the upcoming threats. The prelude comics showed him scared for some grave danger.

Spiderman is currently the neighborhood superhero he is supposed to be. Aunt May now knows Peter is Spiderman. He will soon don the Iron Spider soon and go cosmic in Infinity War. Vision has left Team Iron Man and joined Wanda Maximoff in Wakanda. He will soon be under Thanos’ radar since he possesses the Mind Stone. War Machine is getting the hang of his new leg gear and will soon join in the fight as Tony Stark’s most loyal of friends.

The Guardians have been unwittingly aloof of everything going on in Earth up until now. Groot has grown from being a toddler to a full-blown foul-mouthed teenager with a vocabulary of three words. Mantis has joined their ranks as well. Nebula is also a part of the Guardians after Gamora convinced her to switch sides.

T’Challa has now opened up Wakanda’s gates to the world and opened up outreach centers worldwide. He is now a changed man who views the world needs help and not isolation. Shuri, T’Challa’s sister, leads Wakanda’s technology department and is now the head of Wakanda’s Oakland Outreach center. Okoye is now the leader of the Dora Milaje and M’Baku is back to leading the Jabari tribe after aiding Black Panther to take back his throne.

The Revengers are in a precarious position right now. Thor has lost Asgard, his hammer, and his right eye but gained some new friends. Heimdall now stands with Thor, the new King of Asgard. Valkyrie hasn’t been since in the marketing for Infinity War after she helped Thor cause Ragnarok. The Hulk, stranded on Sakaar for two years, is now with Thor as one of the most vital members of the Revengers.

Last we saw Revengers heading to Planet Earth with Asgardians but Thanos’ sanctuary ship blocked their path. He is on a mission to retrieve all six Infinity Stones. It is likely that Thanos invaded Xandar and killed Nova Corps to recover Power stone aka Orb from them. Afterwards, he is looking for Space stone which Loki has in his possession after he stole it from Asgard chambers. He will be captured by Black Order, forced to give up Tesseract and is the most likely candidate to die in Avengers Infinity War.

Elsewhere, Doctor Strange is now the Sorcerer Supreme. After guiding Thor to Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok, The prelude comics show Strange learning about the Infinity Stones from Wong, who remain head librarian of Kamar-Taj. Baron Mordo has defected and nowhere to be seen as of yet.

So this is all we know so far as to the whereabouts of the Avengers. We will know for sure once ‘Avengers Infinity War’ hits the theaters on April 27th, 2018. It is directed by Russo brothers who have previously directed Captain America: First Avenger and Captain America: Civil War. It is produced by Marvel honcho Kevin Feige along with a team of executive producers such as Stan Lee,  Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo etc. The screenplay has been written by a talented duo – Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The cast is unbelievably awesome as some of the A-listers will be seen together in a single frame including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillian (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill)Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision).
