Here’s Breakdown for Season Finales of Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Arrow

DCEU is certainly struggling to compete with its counterpart MCU at the box office which is now the biggest brand in Hollywood as it has already earned over $14 Billion and two Infinity War movies are expected to rake in at least $3 Billion collectively give or take, on the other hand, except Wonder Woman, all the other DCEU movies have failed to set the cash registers ringing.

But on the small screen, Arrowverse is so far ahead of Marvel shows that the fair comparison is not possible. The major shows on CW include Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Arrow was the first superhero show on TV which became a trendsetter as it shattered the myth that a superhero TV show can’t be commercially viable, it was followed by ‘The Flash’ whose debut season became a massive hit and as a result CW network decided to launch a spin-off show called ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ which comprised of characters from both Arrow and The Flash.

Arrow is in its sixth season, The Flash is in its fourth season and Legends is in its third season. The CW Network has finally released the official synopsis of finales for The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. While all the three shows are going strong and gathering tremendous TRP, the finale of each show is about to pack an even bigger punch for the official plotline and gives us one hell of a story.

Before we discuss what the finales will be about for each of the major shows, let’s discuss as to what has really happened till now:

In Arrow season 6, while everyone thought that Cayden James is the big villain as he has assembled the biggest enemies of Team Arrow under one roof, we came to realize that he was just another pawn in the grand scheme of things for Ricardo Diaz. He believed that if you can take the city then why destroy it (which is what Cayden wanted to do). Diaz has large chunks of SCPD officers on his payroll as well as several Star city officials. It is not very difficult for Green Arrow to take him down as he has dealt with worse before (Slade Wilson, Ra’s Ahl Ghul, Darhk, and Prometheus) but he is not in his prime and he has lost the trust of his team. Can he still save the city? We will find out soon.

In Legends of Tomorrow season 3, the team comprising of an assassin (Sara Lance), a nerd (Ray Palmer aka Atom), a street criminal (Rory aka Heatwave), Zari (Totem bearer), Nate Heywood (Historian cum Commander Steel) and Amaya Jiwe (Vixen) is not just fixing anachronisms throughout time but are fighting a time monster known as Mallus whose power is increasingly growing. The only way to defeat him is through six cosmic totems to be used against this terrifying entity.

In Flash season 4, for the first time, the bad guy is non-speedster who goes by the name ‘The Thinker’. In the first three seasons, Team Flash fought against evil speedsters such as Reverse Flash, Zoom and Savitar, and they more or less knew how to fight the enemy but ‘The Thinker’ is beyond their imagination. His real name is Clifford DeVoe (university professor) who became the smartest man alive when he got exposed to the dark matter released from the particle accelerator explosion. He is not alone in this as his wife (The Mechanic) is on board with his plans. He is always 10 steps ahead of Team Flash. He has already taken meta-human powers of 6 bus metas and Team Flash doesn’t have the slightest clue on how to beat him.

Kevin Smith’s The Flash will have a separate and new storyline for the finale compared to its previous seasons. The Arrow Season 6 finale will take Oliver Queen to his ‘Darkest Place Yet’. The Legends are about to go back to the Wild West, the domain of the new fan favorite Jonah-Hex.

The Legends of Tomorrow currently occupy Super Girl’s time slot after the latter went on its midseason hiatus. The show will end with an 18 episode run. Arrow Season 6 aired its latest episode on March 8 and will resume airing its next episode for Season 6 next Thursday on March 29.

After ‘Run, Iris, Run’, The Flash season 4 is on a two-week hiatus and will air its next episode of the season on April 10. The Final Episode of The Flash Season 4 is directed by Kevin Smith who has already directed two more episodes of the Flash for the same season.

The CW has released the official plotline for the next episode of the aforementioned Arrowverse shows kicking off on the second week next month. The Arrowverse shows will resume with Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 finale. The Legends will land on the old West and team up with their foul-mouthed ally (pun-intended) Jonah Hex.

The Flash Season 4 will see Barry Allen aka the Flash clash with the Elongated Man aka Ralph Dibny over ‘what it means to be a hero’. The episode will also see Danny Trejo return as Earth 2’s Breacher. Arrow Season 6 will air its latest episode that will see Oliver Queen becoming a lot darker on the inside, his thirst to defeat Richard Dragon taking a toll on his relationship with Felicity and William.

The official Synopsis for the Legends of Tomorrow Finale titled ‘The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly’ is:

“The Legends’ plan to vanquish Mallus by using the totems doesn’t go as planned, forcing Rip (guest star Arthur Darvill) to improvise. The team finds itself regrouping in the Wild West where they run into their old pal Jonah Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech). Sara (Caity Lotz) leaves Ray (Brandon Routh) in charge of watching Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), while she comes up with a new plan. Meanwhile, Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) is determined to find a way to use the totems to destroy Mallus. Dominic Purcell, Tala Ashe, Keiynan Lonsdale, Nick Zano and Franz Drameh also star. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Phil Klemmer”.

The Official Synopsis for the next Flash Season 4 episode titled ‘Null and annoyed’ is:

Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) take different approaches to finding the remaining bus metas before DeVoe gets to them. However, Ralph’s cavalier attitude frustrates Barry and the two clash over what it means to be a hero. Meanwhile, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo) returns to ask Cisco (Carlos Valdes) for a favor. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim.

Arrow Season 6 will resume with the Episode ‘Fundamentals’. The Official Synopsis reads:

“In his darkest place yet, Oliver (Stephen Amell) wonders if he has failed at everything – being a father, a mayor and a hero. His frustration rising, Oliver lashes out at Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and William (guest star Jack Moore). A surprising visit from an old friend has Oliver questioning his next move. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Emilio Ortega Aldrich”.

The Legends of Tomorrow will see the return of John Constantine and Jax Jefferson to the show. They will help the crew of the Waverider defeat Mallus although there is another prevailing theory that the duo will only be a part of sub-plot within the finale itself.

Legends of Tomorrow Finale, The Flash And Arrow

The Flash and Arrow will focus on internal tensions and finding ways to dissipate them. Longtime Friends Barry and Ralph will clash against each other as they try to find out what it really means to be a protector of the innocent.

Arrow Season 6 will finally air the episode where Oliver reaches his breaking point. He will be seen lashing out at his own family as a ‘Ghost from the Past’ pays him a visit. This ghost will be an important character that played a vital role in the previous seasons of the Arrow. Our bet is on Malcolm Merlyn.

Well, this has been a great season for all the Arrowverse shows and we can’t wait to see what happens in each of them. Hoping for an epic conclusion in all the CW’s marquee shows.
