The upcoming Marvel movie ‘Avengers Infinity War’ will be the greatest comic book ensemble movie ever put up onscreen by any studio. It will reportedly feature around 35 Marvel superheroes and 67 comic book characters in total. In the words of Kevin Feige, the Marvel boss, Infinity War will mark the culmination of the entire MCU. It will bring closure to everything that has happened till now in the three phases and give us a satisfying conclusion.
Avengers Infinity War is coming closer and closer, and so far, the movie is running on just hype, and no real digital marketing has kicked in until now. The stores have started selling merchandise, clothes, and toys, but we have not seen a lot of the movie on the internet. Only one teaser and TV spot is what we have seen for this movie, and that itself was enough to make the fans go crazy. We have not got to see much if we think about it, neither for the Superheroes nor for the villains.
The Russos described Avengers Infinity War as a “heist” movie. Here is what they said:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.
After months upon months, finally Marvel studios caved and released an official trailer which totally owned the internet. It broke the record for highest amount of viewings on YouTube in the first 24 hours of its release. Infact, pundits believe that the movie has enough potential to surpass the box office record of Avatar and become the highest grossing movie of all time. But time will tell how good it is.
In the trailer, we saw Mad Titan ‘Thanos’ for the first time in action along with his Black Order landed on Earth to steal Infinity gems and assemble Infinity gauntlet to become the ultimate ruler of entire cosmos. Each Infinity gem individually is extremely powerful but collectively they make you invincible as you will have the powers to literally alter the forces of the universe, mess with timelines and rewrite realities. Thanos has already acquired two of the six Infinity stones – Space stone (Tesseract), Power stone (Orb); the Soul stone is still hidden somewhere and is yet to be found.
A new and possibly final trailer for the movie is expected to hit the internet on Tuesday or Friday and that will really kick start the marketing for the movie from now on. Even before the beginning of the marketing, Infinity War’s early Box Office projections for the opening weekend at the domestic box office are being recorded at $200-$235 Million. This number could rise even further as soon as the new story trailer for the movie gets released.
Until now, we have only got a few peeks at Thanos in live action, but not much at his feared Black Order. Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight and Cull Obsidian are the members of this evil group. In a major departure from Marvel comics, the members of Black Order were introduced as “children of Thanos”. On one hand, Thanos’ cinematic children Gamora and Nebula have totally rejected the overtures made by the Mad Titan and are baying for his blood, while the Black Order is firmly behind Thanos and rallying for his cause. In fact, the speculation is that Thanos will send Black Order to destroy the Wakanda in order to retrieve Soul stone which is hidden somewhere in the Kingdom under the protection of Black Panther.
Right now, we don’t have a trailer but Marvel has released new posters for the upcoming movie, and these posters feature many of the heroes along with Thanos and his Black Order. Recently they were highlighted on the new cover of German comics and collectibles magazine Panini Vorschau. This cover was designed in order to pay homage to George Perez’s classic, an iconic cover of 1991’s Infinity Gauntlet #1 and showed Thanos along with Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw. Now here are the recent posters released for the movie.
This is the complete Villain Poster and shows the villains we expect to see in the movie. At the top we can see the two alien ships of Thanos, one of them is the Sanctuary, and the other one is the circular unidentified ship that we are going to see in the movie. Below, them is Thanos, to his left is Ebony Maw, and blow him are Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidion and Proxima Midnight. And right at the bottom, we can see the Outriders, and a whole army of these beings is going to attack Wakanda for the Infinity Stones, and the war is going to take place over there.
The second poster shows all the Avengers and the Guardians individually, with Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Gamora, Star-Lord, Rocket, Doctor Strange and Teenage Groot. The third Poster highlights the Avengers, Guardians, the Infinity Stone and Thanos’ evil smile. In the image we can see Captain (Nomad), Spider-Man in his Iron Spider suit, Gamora, Star-Lord, Rocket, Doctor Strange, Iron Man with his insane armory of the new suit, and Thor. What we can see prominently in these two Posters is that Thor has his two eyes and a scar on the second eye. So, this could be a potential Spoiler as Thor may be getting back the eye that he lost in Ragnarok.
