The First Box Office Projections For Avengers: Infinity War Are Insanely Huge!

Avengers: Infinity War will be upon us in less than two months and the hype for the movie keeps increasing as the movie keeps getting closer and closer. Infinity War will be the greatest character ensemble ever seen on the big screen and it will interweave all the stories told in the last 10 years, starting from Iron Man itself. Since the build-up to this movie has been so fantastic, the anticipation for the movie is huge and this movie is expected to literally break the box office, and blow the minds of all the fans and critics at the same time.

The stakes for the movie are very high, not just story-wise, but also financially behind the scenes. The entire budget and expenditure done of these two upcoming Avengers movies combined were reported to be more than $800 Million, and Marvel and Disney are expecting very big returns from this movie. Disney movies currently hold the reigns for having the two topmost opening weekend earnings at the domestic box office. The biggest question posed to Avengers: Infinity War has been that will this movie shatter all records, and be the biggest, the greatest movie of all time when it comes to the opening and total Box Office earnings?

Recently, Black Panther surprised us all with its Domestic Box Office numbers as it performed way over expectations, and still continues to do so coming into its third Weekend! The earlier Box office projections of Black Panther for the opening Weekend were $95 Million, and the movie ended up with a humongous $201 Million. The second weekend was predicted to be around $90 Million, and it ended up getting a record-breaking $108 Million. Now, the third-weekend projections were around $40 Million, but the ticket sales are counted to be around $65-$70 Million. This movie keeps doing wonders and it has posted an even bigger question for Avengers: Infinity War, which is that will Infinity War be able to even take down Black Panther when it is finally done?

Black Panther currently stands fifth in the line of having the highest domestic Box Office earnings at the Opening Weekend. The first is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which stands at $247 Million. Second in line is Star Wars: The Last Jedi with $220 Million. The third movie is Jurassic World with $208.8 Million and the fourth is The Avengers with $207 Million. After Black Panther lies Avengers: Age of Ultron with $191 Million. So in the top six spots, except Jurassic World, all 5 movies belong to Disney, which clearly is the biggest moneymaker in Hollywood now. And now Avengers: Infinity War is expected to be at the top of this list or at last on the second spot.

Avengers Infinity War

Just recently, the initial box office projections for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ has come in and you are going to love them. Here’s how much the movie is expected to make at the domestic Box Office in the opening weekend and in total:

Domestic Opening Weekend: $200 million – $235 million

Domestic Total Gross: $490 million – $590 million

Avengers: Infinity War

So, we are obviously looking at $200 Million plus numbers, and remember, Box Office numbers are unpredictable nowadays and we all have seen what results Black Panther has presented after the initial predictions. Well this is a very early prediction and the numbers could go either below or above expectations. And a lot of it depends upon the word of the fans and the critics when the premiere of the movie happens and the embargo for the movie lifts. That can bring the movie below or above expectations, which is what happened with Batman V Superman and Black Panther respectively.

Also, these are just the estimates for USA and the worldwide numbers are not yet in because they are even more unpredictable. Also, since the movie is now releasing worldwide on April 27, the calculation of the numbers is not possible this soon for the entire world. But no matter what happens, we all know that Disney is going to be swimming in an ocean of money with 4 huge movies being out till July (Black Panther, Avengers 3, Solo and Ant-Man and the Wasp).

Here’s the official Synopsis of the movie:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
