Infinity War is coming closer and closer day by day. We have waited to see this movie come to life for years, and ever since it was announced, the fans have wanted to see Thanos and the Avengers assembled to take him on. For the first time, we will see the Mad Titan himself along with his notoriously dangerous Black Order to wreak havoc and destruction upon the Earth and the only thing standing between them and total dominance are ‘The Avengers’ and later on Guardians of the Galaxy as well.
It will be the greatest character ensemble ever seen on the big screen and it will interweave all the stories told in the last 10 years. It all began in 2008 when Iron Man was released and since then we have come a long way as we have already seen 18 Marvel movies now. MCU is the biggest brand not just in the comic book genre but even in Hollywood as it has already crossed $14 Billion in box office collections worldwide and the upcoming two Infinity War movies are expected to make $3 Billion, give or take. But anyways….moving on…
Since the build-up of Infinity War has been so fantastic (as always), the anticipation for the movie is huge and this movie is expected to literally break the box office, and blow the minds of all the fans and critics at the same time. In fact, some of the industry analysts believe that given the massive reception that the first official trailer and then subsequently Superbowl TV spot has received, if this kind of insane hype translates into theatrical viewings by the millions of fans, it may just surpass the Avatar box office record ($2.4 billion) when everything is said and done. Well, this will make Avengers Infinity War the highest grossing movie of all time.
The digital marketing of the movie has not properly kicked in till now, but every day, we keep getting something new, some promo arts, some posters and even the release of new merchandise. Fans have been waiting for a long time for the story trailer of the movie, as we are just two months away, and we have seen nothing but a Teaser and a TV Spot of the movie. A new trailer for the movie is expected to release by the end of this week with ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ and as soon as that happens, the Internet is going to go berserk.
For now, let’s focus on the new posters and character bios that have been released just recently. We got bios for six characters of the movie including Thanos. Thanos’ character bio gave us a hint at the motivations of the Mad Titan as we do not know much about him till now, and this bio does tell what he will be doing in the movie. It matches with the Russos’ description of the movie i.e Infinity War is like a heist movie. Here is what they said:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.
Captain America’s bio almost confirmed that we will be getting a version of the Secret Avengers in the movie. Spider-Man’s bio confirmed the Iron Spider suit and it also confirmed Spidey’s trademark power, Spider-Sense to show up in the movie. We also got Story arcs for Thor, Black Widow, and the Hulk.
Now, a new Poster has hit the internet that includes the individual posters for all the Superheroes that are confirmed for the movie except Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ant-Man and The Wasp. The Poster includes 5 original members of the Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Black Widow. It also includes the new Avengers, Vision, Scarlett Witch, War Machine, and Falcon. We can see two future Avengers, Spider-Man and the Winter Soldier, and all the 6 Guardians, Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Rocket, Drax, and Mantis, also have their individual character posters.
The thing that has been really surprising is that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye has been completely absent from all the marketing, toys, and promotions of the film. Word is that Hawkeye will be turning into Ronin and go on a darker path in this movie.
According to reports, something really tragic will happen with Hawkeye which will compel him to lose his identity of being an Avenger as he no longer believes in rules of engagement. What could have happened to Hawkeye that will push him to the breaking point? Well, we did meet his family in Civil War, Could something have happened to them? This is the reason why Marvel doesn’t want to spoil anything for the fans.
Surprisingly, Ant-Man is also not present in any of the Marketing. Well, he may be there but we just can’t see him, since he may be the size of an ant. This poster also does not include the King of Wakanda considering he has a pivotal role in the movie and he has shown up in both the Teaser and the Spot released for the movie.
Well, the color pattern on the rest of the posters does seem amazingly matched to the suits of these heroes. We would love to see something about Hawkeye in the upcoming new trailer.
