10 Most Powerful Magical Objects From The World of Harry Potter

There are many magical objects in the wizarding world of Harry Potter and we can all but wish that we could use them and make our lives easier. These powerful magical objects have been helpful and have come to the aid of Harry Potter and his friends in the series multiple times, so let us have a look at them:

10. The mirror of Erised:

One of the most emotional scenes in the series is when Harry sees his parents in the mirror of Erised. Erised is a mirror that shows a person their hearts deepest desires and if you look closely you would notice that Erised, when spelled backward, spells the word ‘desire’.

9. The Pensieve:

This is one of the most important magical objects in the series as it not only lets you re-visit the past but also gives access to memories of other people. Harry and Dumbledore used the Pensieve to visit Voldemort’s past in order to fight him in the present. The Pensieve was also useful for Harry to find out the reality of Severus Snape and his struggles.

8. The Sword of Gryffindor:

One of the very few objects that are capable of destroying Horcruxes is the sword of Gryffindor that belonged obviously to one of the four founders of Hogwarts. The sword is unique and extremely strong and was used by Godric Gryffindor to fight muggles who attacked wizards. It is goblin made and takes in only that what makes it stronger.

7. The Philosopher’s stone:

The stone that started it all and brought the trio together. The philosopher’s stone is a magical stone that is capable of turning metal into gold and that is not even its biggest use. The stone can be turned into an elixir that can make the drinker immortal and this is the reason that Voldemort wanted the stone so badly.

6. The Elder Wand:

As we know the elder wand is one out of the three magical objects that form the deathly hallows. According to the tale of three brothers, the sword was carved out of the wood of an elder tree and death made it the most powerful wand in the world that could make its owner invincible. This wand became the desire of the dark lord and even led him to his doom.

5. The Marauder’s map:

The Marauders are an integral part of the story and their part always makes us wish we could know more about them. The four friends made this map that not only tells all the secret passages of the castle but most of all tell you the location of the people in it. The map helped Harry in more than one situation and the fact that his father was one of the makers of the map makes it all the more special.

4. The Sorting Hat:

The sorting hat belonged to Godric Gryffindor and when the founders wanted a way to sort students into different houses after they were gone, they came up with the idea of putting their thoughts into the hat and since then it has been sorting students into houses according to the judgments of the founders. The hat is also connected to another object that belonged to Gryffindor which is the sword of Gryffindor. A worthy Gryffindor will find the sword inside the hat when he/she needs it.

3. Cloak of Invisibility:

The part of the deathly hallows that came to Harry Potter in his very first year is the cloak of invisibility. The cloak obviously makes people invisible and we cannot even count how many times it has helped Harry and friends get out of tricky situations and to sneak out at night time. The cloak came to Harry through his father who was descendent of Ignotus Peverell, the original owner of the cloak.

2. The Resurrection stone:

The third deathly hallows are the resurrection stone that is capable of bringing the dead back to life. It is the most controversial out of the three deathly hallows because its use is not seen as most ethical. Bringing the dead back to life is not a good thing because the dead don’t belong in the mortal world anymore. The stone helped Harry when he decided he was ready to die for the wizarding world and would sacrifice himself in the process.

*SPOILERS FOR CURSED CHILD*

 1. Time Turner:

One of the fascinating magical objects is the time turner that has the ability to takes us into the past and mend our mistakes. However, a time turner is considered a very dangerous object because it has the power to completely change history and cause a havoc in the present world (if you have read The cursed child then you know what we mean). Time turners were banned during Hermione’s tenure as the minister for magic as the ministry seized almost all of them.
