Game of Thrones Season 8: Winterfell Might Burn!

Game of Thrones is not one of the but the greatest fantasy adventure show ever made by mankind. Infact, some say the world is divided into two parts – those who watch GOT and those who don’t. It has become a cultural phenomenon and millions of fans are biting their nails and having restless nights waiting for the last season of this HBO series.

As the Night King marches on with his armies into the seven kingdoms of Westeros, hoping to doom the world to an icy fate, our heroes and villains of Westeros are planning their own twisted schemes to get the upper hand. If Night King is a threat that North will have to prepare for, there is also Cersei Lannister who is still alive and is very much a big adversary of Dany and Jon’s forces.

The Iron Born aka Euron Greyjoy and the Cersei Lannister joined hands; the Khaleesi with the aid of Tyrion Lannister has successfully made an alliance with Jon Snow and the Northerners and is marching beyond the wall; one of the Dragons is dead, and winter is knocking at the Westerosi doorstep.

All in all, the stage is set for a wickedly awesome Game of Thrones Season 8. The season will not have ten episodes like the usual but instead have six long episodes which are almost like six feature films with high octane action, drama, sex and massive battle sequences. This will be the most expensive season of Game of Thrones and will go down in history as one of the most successful TV show of all times.

Seriously, if you still don’t want your Season 8 omelets wrecked, I suggest you look away when you still have the chance. For the spoiler, we are about to give you will change the way you see the world of Game of Thrones forever.

The Watchers on the Wall, the most fanatic of the people to follow the Game of Thrones crew members and filming team, have recently released a new video that shows us what looks like Winterfell with real towers and structures being built from the ground up.

The Season 8 was rumored of not using CGI and rather relying on actual effects to further the concept of ‘realism’ that the showrunners boast the upcoming season possesses. But it is not just that. An actual replica of Winterfell is being built in Northern Ireland not just to make the fans marvel at the structures.

With the Night King’s March to Westeros, Winterfell is now in grave danger. In order to not let the undead army get their hands on the seat of power of the Northerners since centuries, Jon Snow is about to do the unthinkable.

That’s right folks!!! Winterfell is about to be burned to the ground!!!! Oh my gosh! This shit is for real.

The video is short but clear enough. An incredibly large and well-controlled fire is ablaze on the sets of Game of Thrones Season 8. The Video is shot from a distance but it is still clear as day.

Flames as massive as this cannot be hoped to be withstood by any man-made structured, not even the great towers and the castle of the North Winterfell. It is still unclear as to why the flames engulf Winterfell but the most probable theory is that Jon Snow sets his own house ablaze in a ‘Scorched Earth’ strategy to not let the White Walkers use his own house against him. We will know for sure only when Season 8 Airs.

The above is an image from the video we are talking about. If this really happens than GOT is on its way to break the hearts of Team Stark as this is just so painful for anyone who thought that finally Starks are in the light of day, but their suffering seem endless.

Of course with a spoiler as big as this raises several questions, chief amongst them being – who burned Winterfell and was it really Jon Snow or the Night King who did it? The latter question doesn’t have an answer yet. The Night King’s forces do not need a shelter or a fort.

They do not need water, food or any other form of sustenance and they most certainly do not need to hide from the winter. Maybe The Night King’s personal ride, the undead Viserion did it to the Northerners. Or maybe it was Jon Snow himself. If it is caused by Viserion that means he is just too powerful and stronger than other dragons after he turned into a white walker.

But if it was Jon Snow, how did he manage to burn castles as large as Winterfell? This is where Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons come into the picture. Or maybe it was some wildfire smuggled by the Lannisters up north. Maybe all Winterfell will be this season is a burning trap for the undead.

Game of Thrones Season 8

If the fire we are so eagerly asking questions about is indeed caused by the Night King, Westeros will have to retreat its forces and live to fight another day. But how can Northern forces with Dany’s unsullied and Dothraki fight an enemy like this? Will other houses also send reinforcements? Will this be advantage Cersei as she can defeat whoever remains with Golden company and become the ultimate Queen of Westeros?

That way the episode to feature this event will most certainly be the second or third one as they will have to make Winterfell’s sacrifice stand out and the only way to do it is if the event occurs early on in the season. If the Northerners do it themselves, then the episode to feature the winter fire

Will probably be the fifth or sixth, showcasing the Last Stand of the Starks. Will Jon Snow, Arya, Sansa, and Bran survive the flames? Or will they perish like almost every major character in Game of Thrones is doomed to be?

The actress Maisie Williams aka Arya Stark has almost confirmed that the season 8 will hit the TV screens in April 2019. Also, the makers want to release it in the first half of 2019 as they want to get nominated for Emmy’s and Game of Thrones is all about that for many years now. Can’t wait to see this epic closure of one of the most influential and iconic fantasy series ever aired on TV.
