Here’s Everything We Need To Know About Terminator 6

The Terminator franchise is one of the most adrenaline-filled, edgy, and racy of all time. Terminator 1 marked the birth of a major sci-fi franchise which shattered box-office records in the sci-fi genre. Terminator 2 topped the first movie and catapulted Arnold Schwarzenegger to global fame. He was always a great action star but Terminator 2: Judgment Day turned him into a god. He will be returning to Terminator 6 and would be de-aged using CGI and visual effects.

Terminator 3 was not as great as the first two were and we all know what a big pile of crap was Terminator: Salvation because even though they had an amazing concept, they failed to capitalize on it and the movie failed on every front. Then came in yet another disaster which did bring in Arnold Schwarzenegger back, but still managed to enter the pile of dust as the movie did not have anything new to present. It was so bad that the 6th movie has decided to just ignore that movie and push it out of the continuity.

Terminator 6 has the potential to go big because it has the right people behind the scenes doing the job this time. Tim Miller, who made Deadpool into a remarkable success, will now be directing the movie and he has teamed up with the legendary money maker James Cameron, who directed the first two good Terminator movies. This time he will be working on the script of the movie alongside David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Billy Ray, Justin Friedman.

Another reason to why this movie is going to be a big success is that along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sara Conner from the first two good movies, Linda Hamilton is going to be back for the sixth one. She will be reprising her role in this movie as the movie will be based upon what happened in the first two Terminator movies and ignore the other three movies because it will act as a direct sequel to Terminator 2. As we all know, she had the lead role in both T1 and T2, and Arnold played the villainous Terminator in the first one, then was converted into the Protagonist, and the rest is history.

These two veteran actors are going to form a similar team in the upcoming Terminator 6 and will pass the Baton to new characters towards the end of the movie. No one else has been cast for the movie yet, but the casting people are going through actors to bring in an all-new cast for this upcoming sci-fi action flick. The movie is still in pre-production stage and the cast will not be announced until the movie starts to shoot next month, which is in March 2018.

Robert Patrick, the antagonist of Terminator: Judgement Day, who played T-1000 in the movie has expressed his interest in returning for the role, but we haven’t heard anything about him being contacted by James Cameron for any sort of role. Since the movie will start production next month, it is expected to be shooting for the next four to six months. As soon as the movie goes through principal photography, we can expect to see a teaser of a full trailer for the movie around December 2018 or early 2019. We might even get a poster release during this year’s comic con, along with many other details.

Here’s what James Cameron said about the new cast of the movie and the characters he is looking to pass the baton to:

“We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story. We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.”

The official Synopsis for the movie has not been released but James Cameron, however, mentioned that the film will center on the aforementioned 18 – 21-year-old actress who can continue the story in future installments should the first movie prove successful. The plan is to create a new trilogy as Arnold and Linda will be leaving the franchise possibly after this movie.

Terminator 6 does not have a title yet but is scheduled to come out on July 26, 2019.
