Black Panther Explains The Secret of Captain America’s New Shield

Avengers Infinity War is just 3 months away, and the hype keeps growing day by day as new plot details and photos keep showing up giving us a little more of what we can expect from the upcoming Superhero extravaganza. Fans are latching onto tiniest of hints that are being teased or announced as the countdown for Infinity War has begun.

This Superhero movie is the biggest ensemble we have ever seen on the big screen as it has about 68 characters appearing in the movie and we will get to see about 35 Superheroes in a scene altogether. So you are totally right to be excited.

Recently, Marvel dropped a trailer for Avengers Infinity War which became an internet sensation as it broke the record for maximum online views on Youtube in the first 24 hours of its release. The pundits believe that the movie has the potential to not just become highest grossing superhero movie of all time but also break Avatar box-office record ($2 Billion +) when everything is said and done.

In the trailer, we saw Steve Rogers or Nomad Cap leading an army of warriors, assassins and bad ass fighters against the possible Black Order’s invasion of Wakanda to retrieve an Infinity gem (Soul stone). The Mad Titan aka Thanos is coming to Earth to steal Infinity Gems in order to assemble an all-powerful Infinity gauntlet which will grant limitless powers to its user.

We saw in the trailer that Thanos already has in possession two of six Infinity gems – Space stone (Tesseract) and Power stone (Orb) and with the help of them he has landed on Earth through an interstellar portal just like the way Loki entered in ‘The Avengers’.

But a lot has changed in phase three with the massive event called Civil War taking place creating a divide among the Avengers. Steve and Tony fought over the Sokovia accords and Steve hurt Tony on a personal level. He then abandoned his Shield.

The Russo brothers told Huffington Post that Captain America dropping his Shield at the end of Civil War “is him letting go of that identity. It’s him admitting that the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.”

We have been wondering when will Cap finally get a new Shield since he abandoned the persona of Captain America and took the mantle of Nomad, even though he might not be acknowledged as Captain Nomad.

This is to be believed because of what we saw in the new Avengers trailer as Steve Rogers showed up with a beard, darker suit, and grimmer demeanor than usual. Now recently, a new Infinity War toy which is being circulated in the market gave us our first look at Cap’s new Shield.

Now this new Shield as it is being believed by the looks of it will be given to Cap by the Wakandans since we saw in the IW trailer that T’Challa orders someone to get Cap a Shield.

So who exactly will give the new Shield to Steve? In the comics when Cap took the mantle of Nomad, he claimed a shield of pure light that could be concealed in a single gauntlet.

Now, considering the recent circumstances with Steve working in the shadows in covert ops and having abandoned his Shield in the past, this could be the perfect fit for him.

Even though in the toy, we can see the Shield looks to be sort of long and triangular in shape, it is still made up of Vibranium. But through various concept arts and theories, we can make out that how will this shield work if it is the Vibranium one and not the one made up of pure light as mentioned above.

As we saw in the trailer that Cap was wearing some kind of gauntlets in his hands which probably look like Wakandan tech. These Gauntlets are believed to form a Shield which is sort of triangular in shape, like the stage shield that Cap had in the first Captain America movie and also like the one he does in the comics.

This would work when cap would join hands, wearing these two gauntlets, it will form a vibranium Shield which Cap can use pretty effectively in battle. This is similar to how Black Panther’s new suit works in the movie as it appears to form its shape around T’Challa coming out of the necklace he is wearing. Now the only one that is capable of coming up with this kind of tech is Shuri.

Shuri is the younger sister of Black Panther and is one of the brightest scientists in Wakanda. She is even said to be smarter than Tony Stark, so she would be the one who comes up with this cutting-edge tech and gives Cap his new Shield.

So whichever Shield Cap gets in the movie, whether it is made up of pure light, or vibranium, it will fold up and go back into his gauntlet(s). This will be something really awesome to look at.

In Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther and Steve Rogers were on the opposite end of the spectrum as Panther joined Team Cap to take down Winter Soldier as he held him guilty of killing his father. Both of them will now be seen in Avengers Infinity War fighting alongside against Thanos’ Black Order to save the Kingdom of Wakanda and prevent Infinity gem from falling into wrong hands.
