10 Revelations That JK Rowling Made After The Potter Books Ended

Harry Potter is definitely a series that will never end because the Potterheads are loyal to the boy wizard and also because JK Rowling never keeps giving us new information about the wizarding world that keeps us fascinated. Since the last movie released in 2012 (yes it has been that long), JKR has kept the Potterheads busy with little pieces of extra trivia about the magical world of Harry Potter which was not a part of the books. These are some of the pieces of information and trivia that JKR dropped on Potterheads after the books ended along with some facts from the cursed child:.

**SPOILERS FOR CURSED CHILD**

Harry and Ron never completed their seventh year at Hogwarts:

As we all know the golden trio had a huge task to finish in their seventh year and went on to find Horcruxes and defeat Voldemort instead of attending Hogwarts and completing their education. JKR once revealed that Hermione probably went back to complete her education and attended Hogwarts for another year after the battle of Hogwarts had ended but Harry and Ron never completed their education.

There was another Harry Potter:

Henry Potter, the paternal grandfather of James Potter and who inspired James and Lily to name their kid Harry was called Harry by his loved ones. Old Harry Potter was a part of the Wizengamot (judicial court for wizards and witches) from 1913-1921. He accused Archer Evermonde (Minister of magic in that era) of forbidding wizards to help muggles in the 1st world war. This courageous act by him caused quite a stir in the wizarding community.

Harry has a phobia of pigeons:

It may sound weird at first that the boy wizard was afraid of pigeons that it is true. In the cursed child, Harry reveals to his son Albus that he has a phobia of pigeons and they creep him out. At first, Albus doesn’t believe him but then Harry explains how he finds them nasty and dirty and that he cannot stand them. This little detail shows Albus that his world famous dad is actually just a regular guy who has his flaws and fears too.

George named his son Fred:

One of the most heartbreaking deaths was that of Fred Weasley as seeing George without him was the worst thing ever. George went on to marry Angelina Johnson and had his own beautiful family. George went on to increase his business and continued working at Weasley Wizard wheezes and Ron helped him. He had two kids, a daughter named Roxanne and a son who he named Fred.

Harry and Dudley made efforts to stay in touch:

Harry and Dudley may not have been friendly as kids but in the last book, we see Dudley making sure Harry knew he wasn’t a waste of space. They continued to be on decent terms with each other in their own worlds.

“Harry and Dudley would still see each other enough to be on Christmas-card terms, but they would visit more out of a sense of duty and sit in silence so that their children could see their cousins.”

Harry never forgot Cedric:

In the fourth book, we found out that Cedric Diggory is killed on Voldemort’s orders in front of Harry but you might not know that Harry felt that he was guilty of Cedric’s death and could never forget him. He often visited Cedric’s grave to apologize and wished he could have saved him somehow. Cedric’s death becomes the central theme in the ‘Cursed child’ as Albus Potter tries to go back in time to save Cedric but everything goes wrong.

Teddy Lupin inherited his mom’s amazing abilities:

Nymphadora and Lupin’s son Teddy inherited his mother’s metamorphmagus abilities and his hair color started changing at the time of his birth only. These abilities cannot be learned and are passed on from generation to generation and so Teddy inherited them from his mom. Also, Teddy lived with his grandmother Andromeda and had constant support from his Godfather Harry and the people from the Order.

Hermione became the Minister for magic:

We all know that Harry became an Auror like he wanted to but did you know Hermione achieved the highest success! After getting out of school her first job was with the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures but she later transferred to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Through the democratic vote, Hermione was elected as the minister of magic which means she was the head of the wizarding community of Britain for at least seven years.

Umbridge got life imprisonment!

The notorious Dolores Umbridge had to deal with her karma sooner or later. The most hated headmistress of Hogwarts, Umbridge got some dose of her own medicine after the battle of Hogwarts. After Voldemort was defeated, Umbridge was arrested and sentenced to Azkaban for the remainder of her life, as many of the Muggle-borns that she had sent there had died under the Dementors’ care.

Harry lost his ability to speak Parseltongue:

One of the coolest powers Harry had was that he could speak to snakes but remember he only had this power because he was a Horcrux. Some part of Voldemort’s powers got transferred to him when he was made a Horcrux. When that part of Harry was destroyed this ability was destroyed too. Harry could no longer speak to snakes.
