10 Superhero Movies We Will Be Able To See After Disney-Fox Deal

The Mouse House is on a roll this year. It felt like forever when rumors of Disney negotiating With 20th Century Fox first came into being. With major production houses like Comcast also in the race to acquire the rights to Fox’s super valuable assets, everyone believed Disney will lose the race. People were proven almost right when negotiations between Disney and Fox supposedly stalled. Almost. A fresh round of talks started earlier this month and the results of that were ground shattering. Disney outran major players like Comcast and MGM to acquire 20th Century Fox. Fox has essentially sold its properties to Disney Studios.

Disney already has too much in its bag. After acquiring Marvel, it even had its own superhero franchise to milk movies out of. But Marvel’s flagship superheroes – the X-Men and the Fantastic Four were Fox property. Marvel had sold off their rights to Fox a long ago. Something that always eluded Disney during the creation and expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even the distribution rights to Star Wars, Disney’s other poster child, lied with 20th Century Fox.

After the signing of the Landmark deal called the “media deal of the century”, two major production houses have joined hands. An event like this is unprecedented in world history. Disney will not only get the rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, they have managed to get their hands on an even sweeter deal.

Fox’s flagship properties like the Simpsons, Aliens, Predators, Planet of the Apes, Kingsman and Die Hard now come under the Disney banner. Fox’s TV and movie rights now belong to the Mouse House. But Disney did not have it easy. Fox made sure Disney paid well for the prize they seek to have. The Mouse House had to shell out a hefty sum of $ 52.4 Billion USD.

And this deal is a ‘dream come true’ for the fans who wanted to see X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers together on the silver screen. Now, we can have the movies that we always wished to see. Here’s a list of movies that are now possible after the Disney-Fox deal:

Silver Surfer feat. Guardians of The Galaxy

Silver Surfer is an iconic character from the comics and Fox successfully ruined the character in Fantastic Four 4. Marvel has brought in a kick-ass cosmic team into the fold, The Guardians of the Galaxy and now can easily introduce Silver Surfer as a part of the galaxy.

Silver Surfer is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel comics and fans always wanted to see him again. Seems like the long wait will soon be over for the fans.

Galactus vs The World

Right now, the biggest villain in the MCU is Thanos, but in the comics, many big baddies are available and one of those big villains is Galactus. This character could do some serious damage and threaten the existence of the entire world.

He was turned into a giant cloud by Fox in Fantastic Four 2, which somehow destroyed the potential of the character and also they failed to show his true strength on screen. Hoping to see him once again on screen after Avengers Infinity War.

Black Panther and Storm

Storm and Black Panther are lovers in the comics and are a wedded couple. Although the upcoming Black Panther movie will have a different love interest of T’Challa, we hope to see his true love, Storm joining him soon on screen soon.

Deadpool and Spiderman

A modern-day team-up that is loved a lot by the fans is the team-up of the web-slinger, Spider-Man and the merc with a mouth-Deadpool.

The two share an amazing chemistry with each other and are known for trolling people and other superheroes. We hope to see their bromance soon on the big screen.

Wolverine vs The Hulk

In the Old Man Logan storyline, we see Wolverine take on the Hulk and actually winning against him. The Hulk has been a great asset to Marvel and Wolverine has been the biggest asset of Fox till now. If the two will meet in a versus movie, it would be a visual spectacle.

The two characters also have many faceoffs in the comics and seeing them taking on each other on the big screen will be a dream come true for the comic fans.

Captain America and Cyclops

Both these individuals are great leaders of their respective teams and in that position, they could easily come to blows as they have in the comics before.

This could give us what we have wanted for so long, a match-up that we all would root for, The Avengers vs The X-Men. And after this huge deal, this fight is now among many other possible things that Disney can do with the characters.

Iron Man vs Doctor Doom

While Iron Man has been the greatest thing that has happened to Marvel Cinematic Universe, it still has not been able to introduce an effective villain. And we all know, Doctor Doom is one of the biggest Marvel comics villains of all time but has not been portrayed rightly in the movies.

A movie where RDJ’s Iron Man takes on Doctor Doom would be the greatest thing we have ever seen.

Secret Invasion

A few years ago, a massive event called ‘Secret Invasion’ took over the entire Marvel comics universe. It told the story of an invasion of the shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls, a race with strong ties to the Fantastic Four. And this major event can finally take place in the movies as well after the Disney-Fox deal.

Hulk vs The Thing

The biggest question in our minds has always been that who would win in a fight when Hulk would take on the Thing. While Stan Lee thinks that The Hulk would emerge victoriously, we would surely love to see this fight happen in front of our own eyes and find out the result.

Right after the news regarding the deal came out, Michael Chiklis, the actor who portrayed the character of The Thing in the Fantastic Four movie that came in 2005 showed his interest in playing the character once again by posting an image of The Thing punching The Hulk along with the question, “Could it be clobberin time?

Avengers, X-Men, Guardians, Fantastic 4, Inhumans, Defenders Team Up

Marvel

Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 are going to be the biggest events we have ever seen on the big screens. The movies will bring in the biggest team-up event of all time. The movies will bring the team Avengers and the team Guardians together.

disney

But, what we have always wanted to see is the X-Men and Fantastic 4 teaming up with the MCU Avengers. Imagine a movie where all these teams come together and form a single unit, taking on a team of villains like Thanos, Apocalypse, and Galactus. And after the confirmation by the studios that these teams are going to join the MCU, the possibility of such events have become a reality.

Hope to see some of these mega-events soon. Which comic book event do you want to see on the big screen?
