The First Look And Title of The Next Fantastic Beasts Movie Has Been Revealed

The first Fantastic Beasts movie came out last November and it left us all asking for more. The movie explored the wizard community of America and the timeline was 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter series. The movie got a good response from the fans and critics alike and started the new series with a bang.

Since then we have been waiting for the first look of the next movie and every bit of news has made us more excited and guess what it has finally been revealed! Warner Brothers has just revealed the title of the next installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise and has also released the first look and motion poster of the next chapter in the series. The title of the movie is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The poster features all the characters from the first film and some new additions. Newt Scamander, Tina and Queenie Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski and Credence Barebone are back along with Gellert Grindelwald, a young Albus Dumbledore, Leta Lestrange and two more mysterious characters who we are yet to be revealed.

The poster looks completely magical and all characters look intense. The first movie was just an introduction to the wizarding world of America and the new characters. Now the story will take shape and will take us deeper into the world 70 years before the birth of Harry Potter. This movie is expected to be much darker than the previous film and will dwell deeper into the dark times of the wizarding world. As the title suggests the centre of the film is Gellert Grindelwald and his malicious plans for the ‘greater good’ of the world.

If you look closely at the clip you can see the mark of the ‘Deathly Hallows’ which is significant to the plot of this film. If you have read the Harry Potter books you would know that the last book gives us some insight into the story of Grindelwald and his plans for the wizarding world. The symbol of the deathly hallows was indeed important to Grindelwald and his plans of world domination. He was expelled from Durmstrang for ‘twisted experiments’ and malicious schemes. His back story will be explored in this film and his relationship with the most loved Headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore.

Albus Dumbledore who was once a dear friend of Grindelwald is now on the other side and will be standing up against the villain. The two wizards were close before an unfortunate accident happened that made them both enemies. The story will continue months after the end of the first film and this time it is set in Europe.

The title of the film is creating some debates as many fans are feeling that the title doesn’t sound as magical as they expected it to be. The ‘Crimes of Grindelwald’ sounds very straightforward and doesn’t leave a mystery to the story. If we compare this title to the titles of the Potter series then it doesn’t match up. Still, the excitement for the movie has not reduced even though we have to wait another year for the film.

David Yates will return as the director of the series and the screenplay is written by JK Rowling herself. Jude Law will make his debut as the young Dumbledore and we can’t wait to see it. The film will be revealed on 16 November next year and so the title was revealed exactly a year before the release.
