Marvel Studios Confirms Fan-Favorite Superhero Into The MCU
The comic-book character Ghost Rider is in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 4, the famous actor Gabriel Luna (Tony Bravo in Matador) has been cast to play the role. He is the most recent incarnation of Ghost rider i.e Robbie Reyes instead of Johnny Blaze. He uses his amazing powers to help innocent people. He is driving a car on fire and dispensing vigilante justice to criminals. He has the power to teleport himself into the car. He has blended perfectly into the narrative and is keeping the audience on the edge throughout.
Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider debut in 1972 as part of the ensemble and later got his own series in 1973 which lasted till 1983. Johnny Blaze was not the first Ghost Rider, the original was Carter Slade who made his debut in 1967 in Ghost Rider #1. The name “Ghost Rider” is inspired by a song titled “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky”, a cowboy-style song written in 1948. In the story ‘Trials and Tribulations’, it was revealed that the spirit of vengeance has been around since the Biblical times, hence there have been many ghost-riders across time. The current Ghost-rider is Robbie Reyes who appeared in all new ghost rider series in 2014. He drives a car not a motorcycle, and he is powered by his Uncle Eli not the spirit of vengeance.
There is now a real possibility of a spin-off show based on Ghost-rider due to the impressive response of the fans. At NYCC, 2016 when Gabriel Luna was asked about the idea of a standalone series on Ghost-rider, he seemed optimistic and thinks that the rumblings of it may have already begun at the Marvel studio. But before that, we have great news for the fans as Marvel confirms the existence of Johnny Blaze as part of the MCU. There have been inklings of him as we saw a book of the dead which contains powerful secrets about every Marvel creature from a superhero to demons. Also, we saw a poster of Quentin Carnival (a place where Johnny Blaze spent time doing stunt work) in the basement along with a leather jacket and a torn bike. This clearly suggested that he had existed in the past. Well, he exists today as well.
