Zack Snyder, the director responsible for movies such as 300, Man Of Steel and Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice may be criticized for many things, but no one can deny that the man does things on a larger than life scale. It’s what has made Snyder’s films great and an experience for movie goers. Which could another director make a film like 300 looks as epic and visually stunning as Snyder?
The director is about to bring that out of this world quality in film-making to the up and coming DCEU movie Justice League. The cast and crew have just finished principal photography in London, with Jason Mamoa reporting that the Justice League film crew will continue filming in Iceland. Two of the Justice League stars, Ben Affleck and J.K Simmons may not be part of that Icelandic crew. As both actors are busy promoting their movie The Accountant.
J.K Simmons, most recognized for his films Whiplash which garnered him an Oscar and past roles such as Peter Parker’s boss at the Daily Bugle in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, talked about working with director Zack Snyder and his first DCEU experience with Collider:
“Yeah well there’s not a lot of ‘small’ on those kinds of sets. When you’re working with Zack Snyder ‘small’ is not the word that comes to mind, or any of those DC Universe kinds of projects. I mean there are two schools of thought about that for actors. It is kind of nice, in a way—especially when you’re playing a supporting part—to start out just kind of doing a little ‘Oh and then you’re gonna walk down this hall, say hi to this guy, and that’s your day’s work.’ Kinda get your feet wet. Or whether it’s better to just dive into the deep end and get some of the heavy stuff out of the way. It was fun, I mean that whole universe is something I’m really excited to be a part of for a while down the road hopefully”
