This MAJOR Thor: Ragnarok Star Spills Details About The Film

Marvel Cinematic Universe has become one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood for their consistent success at the box office. This success has resulted in the studio making some riskier choices with their films. The studio has always given small time directors a chance and made them into household names. Case in point Jon Favreau. The studio has also been able to cast more recognizable Hollywood stars to join MCU. Acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett will make her Marvel debut with the role of Hela, goddess of Death in Thor: Ragnarok.

cate-blanchett-30233-2880x1800  Blanchett’s role has been described by actor Mark Ruffalo as being “the worst of the worst. So evil. She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.” She would become the second female supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha is going to get the title of being first thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but there seems to be more talk about Blanchett’s role, mainly because she is Cate Blanchett, one of the most respected and revered actresses working at the present time.

Blanchett did an intewrview with Entertainment Weekley where she talked about her experience of working with the cast of Thor: Ragnarok. Blanchett said this about Chris Hemsworth:

“He is a big guy! But, you know, you get on the Avengers/Marvel bandwagon — they’re making so many of these behemoths at once — he doesn’t have any time to sort of get chubby. I do love Chris in these movies — he has that really playful side of him that he gets to truck out.”

The actress also replied to Ruffalo’s comments about Hela being the “worst of the worst”:

“Did he say that? Well, he’s the greenest of the green! I didn’t get to work so much with Mark, unfortunately. But I did get to work with Chris [Hemsworth] and talk about delightful! He’s just absolutely fabulous. The whole thing was just a riot and fantastic fun. Did you see [director] Taika Waititi’s film, Hunt for the Wilderpeople? Or, What We Do in the Shadows? He’s just got such a sure hand. He’s wonderful — I’d eat him for breakfast if I could. He’s absolutely delicious. And he’s irreverent which is great because Marvel, at its best, has its tongue firmly in its cheek.”
