Will There Finally Be A Ms. Marvel Series?

Brie Larson made news a few months ago when she put rumors to rest by being confirmed as the new Captain Marvel. The new superhero joins MCU’s impressive line-up that already includes Thor, Iron Man,Guardians Of The Galaxy and the Avengers. And though there are talks of the Captain Marvel being released in 2018, the studio is pretty quiet on what the film would be about. This has got many fans and critics wondering if the new Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan will feature in the new film?

Kamala Khan is the Pakistani-American who took over the title of Ms. Marvel from Carol Danvers in the comics. She is also the first Muslim superhero in the Marvel world. The new Ms.Marvel has been fairly popular amongst comic book readers and fans since she was first introduced back in 2013.That popularity has resulted in rumors of a Ms. Marvel series being in the works. UK’s E! Online asked if a Ms.Marvel series would ever happen to Marvel’s head of television, Jeph Loeb,to which he said:

“Look, that’s a character that has tremendous popularity and when that happens you know that I’m always looking around to see what we can do. We love the character, and one never knows.”

While the Captain Marvel movie is still in its pre-production phase the rumors about Kamala Khan have grown so loud that MCU cannot turn a blind eye to it.During an interview with CBR, Joe Quesada who is Marvel’s Chief Operating Officer admitted that fans have a massive influence on which characters will head to the big and small screen:

“Our readers are the Johnny Appleseeds. They tell us something is resonating, something is hitting a core, and that’s something we should try to cultivate. Another great example of this: Ms. Marvel. If we had put this book out ten years ago, it probably would never have succeeded. Not only did we find the audience, but we had the right people on the book and we had the right editor on the book, the right creators on the book. And now we have a character that’s very recognizable — very, very quickly.

That doesn’t happen a lot. Who knows where Ms. Marvel’s going to end up. You can be sure that, somewhere down the road, she will be a part of the future of Marvel in other media.”
