In a conversation between directors Anthony and Joe Russo and screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on the Captain America: Civil War Blu-ray DVD’s commentary, it was revealed that the suit that was donned on set was just a template for visual effects artists to restore afterward.Joe Russo said in the commentary:

“[They] really did a ton of work on that outfit. I mean, we had an outfit that we used on set. It’s impossible when you’re talking about an otherworldly outfit like the one that the Panther wears, which has a certain luminescence to it because it’s made of a woven metal.”We could never afford to construct an outfit like that that an actor or a stunt player could move around in without sweating to death or that would capture the luminescence that we need.So what we ended up doing in post is ILM came in and painted over Chadwick and the stuntman. The outfit is completely CG.

Anthony Russo has also revealed an amazing fact about Black Panther when doing a Q&A with Quora:

“Black Panther’s ring is special to him because it was worn by his father, the king. When he puts it on for the first time in Civil War, it’s symbolic of him taking on his father’s role. As for it’s powers, we will all have to wait for the Black Panther movie.”
