The tabloids are running extra-time with more details coming out from the ugly spat between Superstar Johnny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean movies) and Supermodel & actress Amber Heard who tied a knot with him just 15 months ago amidst all fanfare and glitz. They are currently going through divorce proceedings with Amber Heard rejecting spousal support offer made by Johnny Depp. The couple had no prenuptial agreement before the marriage.
She alleged that he repeatedly assaulted her physically, violently attacked her in their penthouse apartment. The lawyer of Amber Heard submitted bruised picture of her, broken bottles, picture frames and shattered glass on the floor. In her statement, she said “During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him.” On the other hand, the lawyers of Johnny Depp claimed that “Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.” Johnny Depp has denied issuing any statement to address the specific allegations levelled by his wife.
The entertainment tabloid TMZ reported that she has also filed a domestic violence restraining order against her husband, and guess what judge has granted it to her and ordered Johnny Depp to stay away from his estranged wife. She said money is the least of her priority, she is primarily concerned with her safety. But apparently, Johnny Depp fears for his safety from Amber Heard and demanded a “mutual restraining order” which she refused saying that she isn’t the violent one. The lawyers on both sides are negotiating a settlement, earlier Amber Heard rejected the offer of $50,000 for 8 months. Under the California family law, she is legally entitled to half of Johnny Depp’s earnings during their marriage.
