HBO officially dropped a teaser trailer for the Game of Thrones season 6, and as expected Jon Snow continues to loom large and play with the emotions of millions of fans. But there are two important characters who are coming back in season 6 – Bran and Bloodraven. The footage has Bloodraven talking to Bran explaining him the difference between what happened in the past and what is about to come. He is telling him that something totally unexpected is about to happen – clearly he is talking about White Walkers invading lands of Westeros and are unstoppable by forces of Kings of Westeros.
He also said that “the past is already written, the ink is dry”, you could expect Cersei type flashbacks in the coming season, to be used as a plot device to further the narrative. One such flashback that’s confirmed will be for Tower of Joy sequence, an important historical event in the history of the realm. Will it confirm R+L = J theory? I guess we will have to wait and watch.
Without entering into book territory, it is expected that in season 6, D&D are going to do flashbacks from the Song of Ice & Fire book “Dance with Dragons”. But it is highly unlikely to see Cold Hands on the TV show, as Lady Stoneheart was also ignored in the last season. The weirwoods are tied to the greenseer’s powers and the Bloodraven was the last greenseer till Bran came onto the scene, the Children of the Forest also share these powers with them.
The Game of Thrones Season 6 is expected to air in the last week of April, 2015.
