8 Ways to Identify the Unhappy You

You want to be happy but aren’t. You tried to smile, but end up cribbing and getting irritated about things. If that’s you, well, you are certainly not “happy.” Here are ways by which you can identify what’s wrong with you and try to correct it:

  1. The past:

Thinking too much about the past is one thing that makes people sad. A bitter relationship or a decision which went wrong is ruining your present. Thinking too much about your past can’t change it. Instead of letting your mind wander in the streets of past, understand that it’s gone and try to move on.

  1. The future:

If your reason of unhappiness does not lie in the past, it may be future. Thinking too much about what will happen in the next few months or years can be the reason of your unhappiness. Try not to think too much about your future. If you are that worried, take charge of your future!

P.S.: Even if you are not worried, you can take charge of the future.

  1. Complicating things:

In the complex world, being simple has become tough. You face many complexities every day. This makes mind to think that the key to everything should be complex. Well, most of the times, this is not true. So, think simple and say goodbye to your sadness.

  1. Working for “perfection”:

Humans are the epitome of imperfection. We make so many mistakes and eventually learn from them. Still we make more mistakes. Trying to be perfect every time will give you a depressing result. This in turn will make you sad. Being perfect is not absolute. Try to get on with this thought!

  1. Negativity Inside:

If you will always see the glass as half-empty, you will always be sad. Understand that there are two sides of a coin. Try to see the other part as well. Concentrating on negativity will make you unhappy. You should be prepared for the worst. However, that does not mean that is the only thing you have to do!

  1. Negativity Outside:

It is not only your fault. Have a look around you. The people you spend your time with can be one reason for your unhappiness. Their cribbing and crying might have affected you. If that is the case, time to change your circle!

  1. Comparison:

“He has a big car”, “He has got amazing phone”, “He lives in Bangalore and I don’t”. Comparing yourself to others will obviously make you feel sad. As they say, the grass is greener on the other side. In this rat race, we tend to forget that each one of us is unique. Everyone has something good and bad. However, the package is exclusive!

  1. Money:

Because you cannot get enough! This is one reason most of the people on the planet are unhappy, dissatisfied and what not! Thinking that you do not have enough money for your needs and wants will make you unhappy. Sometimes that is not the case. We just tend to prioritise our wants more than our needs.

Whatever the reason maybe, it is not worth your happiness. So, figure it out and end it! Just be happy, it’s simple!
