Every year in Game of Thrones, there are characters who make it to the next season and then there are those who joins the list of fallen. Some of them are adored by a huge swathe of GAME OF THRONES fan community while others are despised and even cheered at when they die a horrific death. Jon Snow
There is no one out there, not even one person, who didn’t weep and felt terrible at the last 5 minutes of the finale. He paid the price for being an upright Lord Commander who thought about the greater good of the realm, instead of narrow interests of the Nights’ Watch. He was repeatedly stabbed by his fellowmen whom he was trying to protect from the army of the dead. What an irony…
Princess Shireen
She was the most beloved character on the 5th installment of the show but was made to go in the most brutal way possible. After her father’s plans went haywire, he decided to take counsel of Lady Melisandre and burnt his own daughter alive as a sacrifice to Lord of Light.
Maester Aemon
It’s a rare thing on the show that a prominent character dies a peaceful “natural death”. He was born a Targaryen, even had the chance to sit on Iron Throne, but instead he chose to become a Master and sworn to the cause of Nights’ Watch. His words of great wisdom will be thoroughly missed.
Sir Barristan Selmy
He was considered to be one of the greatest swordsmen in the whole of seven kingdoms, his nickname was “Barristan the Bold”. He pledged allegiance to Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen and died of multiple wounds on the chest while fighting with “Sons of the Harpy”.
Stannis Baratheon
He is the epitome of a person who spectacularly fell from grace. He burnt his own daughter alive, his wife hung herself, half his soldiers deserted him and took away his horses. He was consumed by his lust for power and in the process lost everything. Finally, Brienne of Tarth executed a death sentence on him and avenged the life of Renly Baratheon killed by a shadow monster of Stannis.
Hizdahr
He was the head of one of the ancient, wealthy, aristocratic family who indulged in the slave trade in the city of Mereen. He suggested to Dany to reopen the fighting pits in order to respect old traditions. She married him and opened the pits, but “Sons of the Harpy” attacked during the fight and killed him ruthlessly.
Myrcella Baratheon/Lannister
In the last episode, it was revealed that she knew all along that her father is actually Jamie Lannister and not King Robert. She even told Jamie that she is proud to have him as a father, but before she could start a new life, Ellaria Sand poisoned her to avenge her husband’s death.
