The Upcoming BATMAN Solo Movie Is In Serious Trouble, Can The Dark Knight Rise?

Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns want to make a definitive Batman film, so the movie may feature major villains of Batman comics who are locked up in Arkham asylum. They are planning to bring all the big guns at the very first outing, and create a sprawling Bat universe. Marc Guggenheim said on his social media account that Deathstroke has been earmarked for a live action DC property. Months later, DC made an announcement that Deathstroke will be the villain in the upcoming Batman solo movie. He will be up against the greatest detective and superhero the world has ever seen – THE BATMAN.

In DC Comic book universe, he is an assassin for hire who always gets his way. He is one of the most powerful figures whose powers are off the charts and he has a sword with a magical blade. He could calculate every move of his opponent and then destroy him at will. In one of the DC storyline titled “Identity crisis”, Deathstroke single-handedly took down the entire justice league.

In the upcoming Batman movie, Joe Manganiello has been cast to play Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke. He said –

“Growing up an avid comic book fan, and then there were a lot of superhero roles, and supervillain roles, that came my way that I said no to, or wasn’t allowed to do, because of other commitments. It’s just really exciting to think that this is the one. I’m glad everybody’s happy. I’m just gonna put my head down and just really show up as prepared as any supervillain ever has.”

But recently, during Pittsburg Today Live, the media correspondents asked Joe Manganiello about the status of his role as the supervillain Deathstroke in the upcoming Batman solo movie. He seemed puzzled and skeptical with the question and said “Umm. Maybe. We’ll see.” This is a major departure from Joe’s tone when he was extremely excited and was sharing images on his social media with the fans. Hopefully, he will clear the doubts of everyone looking forward to seeing Deathstroke onscreen after Manu Bennett’s iconic portrayal on Arrow TV show.
