Disney’s The Mandalorian season 3 features an episode that has the potential to change the course of the MandoVerse series. After a death and an impending betrayal, things aren’t looking good for the titular bounty hunters as Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon prepares to carry out his evil scheme. One of the actors who portray the title character, Brendan Wayne, has hinted that the finale will be difficult to watch.
Wayne hinted on his Instagram story that the conclusion “might just hurt too much,” implying that it will be just as tragic as the first part. The next episode will make you regret asking for more, he warned, because it might hurt too much. ” However, The Mandalorian showrunner Dave Filoni shared that there will also be moments in the finale that will make fans feel satisfied and even cheering. In an interview with Collider, Filoni said, “they’ll have a lot to take in, and I think with any good ending there’s the moment you’re in it when you’re cheering and you feel satisfied, but then there’s a little bit after that where you think back at all the things that happened.”
Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito also teased surprising things in the upcoming finale in a separate interview with Collider during Star Wars Celebration. He noted how important Moff Gideon is in the grand scheme of things and how he is trying to bring people together. He said, “you’ve got Moff Gideon who’s in the mix. He’s back. He’s back after having been shuttered for a little bit – obviously he escaped, and obviously he has ideas on how to divide and conquer.”
Wayne’s tease about the Season 3 finale suggests that not everyone will make it out alive. Given that Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin was captured by Moff Gideon at the end of Episode 7, the titular bounty hunter could be in danger. However, his popularity and unresolved story with Grogu could save him from dying. Another character who could meet her demise is the Armorer, played by Emily Swallow. Some fans theorize that the Armorer is a spy for Moff Gideon, and this betrayal could lead the other Mandalorians to take her out.
Other Mandalorians close to Bo-Katan, such as Axe Wolves or Koska Reeves, could also end up dying, which could forever change Bo-Katan but help her become the leader she needs to be. Whatever happens, fans are in for an emotional roller coaster in the finale.
The Mandalorian Season 3 finale will be available on Disney+ on April 19th.
