Marvel Fans Let Down By Recent Remarks Made By Scarlett Johansson

Hey guys, big news for all you Marvel fans out there! Scarlett Johansson, who played Black Widow in the MCU, has just dropped some disappointing comments about her future with the franchise. As you know, Black Widow’s character met her demise in Avengers: Endgame, but fans were excited to see her get a long overdue solo movie with this year’s release of Black Widow. Now, with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova set to continue the Black Widow legacy, it seems like Scarlett Johansson’s MCU journey has come to an end.

However, many fans were hoping that Johansson would still be involved in a future Marvel Studios project, possibly producing a solo movie for Yelena Belova. But, in a recent interview with The Goop Podcast, Johansson announced that she is officially “done” with her MCU character, saying that she has “done all that [she] had to do.” She added that playing a character for over a decade is a unique experience and that her chapter in the MCU is over. This isn’t the first time Johansson has said this either. She declared her MCU tenure as concluded after Black Widow’s release earlier this year.

However, she did reveal that she will be involved in a future Marvel Studios project as a producer, though it’s still unclear what that project will be. Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Pepper Potts in the MCU, also weighed in on the topic, praising Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige for his ability to create a unique experience for actors playing long-term characters. During the podcast, Paltrow also asked Johansson about her experience playing a “badass superhero,” to which Johansson replied that it was the “best time ever.”

She also mentioned that when she was working with Florence Pugh, who is in her early twenties, on Black Widow, she felt like she was going through the same experience all over again. Johansson also described the MCU experience as being like “an adult summer camp,” where actors come back every few years to reprise their roles and find their co-stars in different places in their lives. Despite Johansson’s departure from the MCU, fans can still catch her in Black Widow, which is currently streaming on Disney+.

Overall, it seems like Johansson’s time as Black Widow has come to an end. While it’s a bit disappointing for fans, it’s understandable that she would want to move on from playing the same character for over a decade. However, we’re excited to see what her future Marvel Studios project will be and how the Black Widow legacy will continue with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.
