MCU Theory: Will Thunderbolts Replace Avengers 5?

After years and years of rumors and speculation, Marvel finally revealed that a Thunderbolts movie is, in fact, in the works. In the past few days, new information and memes about the cast of the movie have taken over the internet. Thunderbolts is one of the most badass and strongest teams of anti-heroes in the comics. And we have a theory that suggests that it will be a big movie for the MCU. In fact, it will be so big that it might replace Avengers 5 as Phase 4’s first major crossover movie! Keep up with the post to find out will Thunderbolts replace Avengers 5. Black W7-8 MCU Projects the New Rule From 2021idow Have Sequels According to Scarlett Johansson

Thunderbolts is the newest and the most ambitious Phase 4 project for the MCU. In the comics, the Thunderbolts comprised a bunch of reformed criminals with special abilities. Well, they weren’t reformed at first, per se, but over time, they got more aware and decided to do the right thing. In their way, of course. This has always been Marvel’s answer to DC Comics’ infamous Suicide Squad. Another interesting fact is that Baron Zemo gathered the team for the first time. And ever since Feige teased that Zemo will be playing a bigger role in the MCU, starting with Disney+’s tFatWS, fans knew that the Thunderbolts will be part of the MCU’s future.

But MCU didn’t have that many villains with redeemable qualities till Phase 3. So, Phase 4 was all about giving the supervillains that could have the potential for MCU’s Thunderbolts. And Phase 4’s 5 movies and 6 miniseries to date have given us just the team we need. MCU’s Thunderbolts could comprise Daniel Brühl’s Zemo, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russel’s John Walker(US Agent), Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky(Abomination), Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster and led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra De Fontaine, of course! They may even feature Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. And maybe, just maybe, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool!

BUT WHY DO WE THINK THEY CAN REPLACE AVENGERS 5?!

All the names we just mentioned have been a part of different MCU projects and haven’t even met each other, except for some of them. So Marvel execs have been introducing them one by one and explaining how their choices in the respected movies, in which they were featured, will lead them down a path to the Thunderbolts. This is exactly what happened before the Avengers first assembled in 2012’s Avengers. Then they can do exactly what Amanda Waller did in DC’s Suicide Squad, and have the government put De Fontaine in charge of an off-the-books black ops mission. Now we already know that Valentina is assembling a team so it is only a matter of time before she approaches every one of the candidates.

Plus, there are more facts that support this theory of ours. First of all, with the way that things have been moving in the MCU’s Phase 4, we are not sure if the Avengers is a thing anymore. The majority of the original members are either dead or out of commission. And we can’t see any of the superheroes coming together to fight against a common enemy in the near future. However, Ms. Marvel’s first episode featuring an AvengersCon might change things. But we don’t see that going anywhere. Thunderbolts‘ possibility, on the other hand, is increasing with every MCU project. Moreover, Feige has hinted that there might not be any more Avengers movies. What if these are the new type of movies that might replace them until all the heroes have to come together again for an Endgame-level threat?

Will Thunderbolts Replace Avengers 5

Another reason we could see Thunderbolts next is the amount of footage that the potential members of the team have received. They wouldn’t spend so much time explaining Yelena’s and John Walker’s origin if they didn’t have anything planned for them. Under these circumstances, a crossover of our favorite characters in the MCU is only possible in Thunderbolts. Fans have always complained that Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier is remarkably underused. What if it wasn’t a mistake? Maybe they were planning something big for him! And maybe Thunderbolts is that! And if it is, having another crossover bigger than this(Like Avengers 5) could undermine it.

Considering all this, do you still want to see an Avengers movie? Or are you cool with Thunderbolts replacing Avengers 5 in Phase 4? Dop let us know in the comments.
