Invisible Woman Makes A Strong Case For Being The Strongest Marvel Hero

The Marvel Cinematic Universe just introduced us to a new live-action version of Reed Richards in Multiverse of Madness with the debut of Earth-838. We cannot say that it was a great introduction since MCU’s tendency to create Easter eggs sometimes backfires on the story. This was one of those times. The introduction and death of Reed Richards showed precisely what we feared. It showed that Marvel Studios is using the multiverse like a crutch and not as a way to broaden their storytelling methodologies. But the existence of Reed also implies the existence of the strongest Marvel hero in all of the multiverse. Can you guess who we are referring to?

Characters Hydra

I’ll give you a couple of guesses before I reveal it. So let me start to break down how and what this person can do. First of all, this person is powered through cosmic rays and was part of the same accident that blessed Reed Richards with his powers. Second, this person birthed Franklin Richards, and third, you are right, this person is Sue Storm. But Sue only has defensive force field and invisibility powers, you say? Well, you are not entirely incorrect. But there is a lot more to Sue Storm than you will ever be able to fathom if you only know of her through animated series and the movies. She is a powerhouse with the capability to destroy celestials at a whim and we think that this part of her should be highlighted in full vigor. So let me explain why she is one of the strongest comic superheroes.

The Strongest Marvel Hero

Sue Storm’s abilities were first explored during Fantastic Four #1-22. She first exhibited the powers to create and manipulate force fields in a way that would aid her team in combat. Her abilities and tactics were mainly defensive. That is, until the events of The Fantastic Four Vol 1 #400. In this comic, The Fantastic Four find themselves in the midst of a conflict between The Celestials and The Watchers. Reed Richards and family have always been friends of The Watcher and hence they decide to assist Uatu. But no matter what they throw at The Celestials, nothing seems to scratch them.

The Celestials’ armor has resisted the combined might of the Asgardian gods channeled through the Destroyer armor, the power of three Skyfathers together, and even the Ultimate Nullifier. So Reed Richards knew that he would have to come up with some sort of an ultimate plan. He settles on Sue, his wife. You see, as Reed explains, the source of Susan’s powers is the same as that of The Celestials. Both of them draw on the power of hyperspace and hence theoretically the only person who would be able to pierce the armor of The Celestials had to be Sue herself.

Unsurprisingly, this theory turns out to be true and Sue uses her force field powers to break through the armor of Exitar the Exterminator and destroy his brain and nervous system from within his body. This results in the disappearance of the said Celestial making Sue one of the strongest Marvel heroes. There are not many people in the Marvel multiverse who can claim the title of a Celestial killer. Even Sentry does not possess the raw power necessary to wound them. Hence, Sue’s limitless reserve of celestial-like power sourced from the Hyperspace itself makes her a legitimate threat.

The Consequences

The strongest Marvel hero

If you think about it carefully Marvel has been setting up the advent of all of Sue Storm and her family into the MCU for quite some time. But now that they are actually here we do not know what to do with them. For starters, it is quite obvious that we would like to see a true origin for the first family of Marvel and then we would love to see the re-enactment of the above tale in a Celestial-human war in Phase V of the MCU.

If one revisits the events of Eternals, it becomes painfully apparent that a war is coming. You can be sure that we would need The Strongest Marvel Hero for this war in the MCU.
