All Easter Eggs In Ms. Marvel That We Missed!

The first episode of Disney+’ Ms. Marvel is finally out and is filled with easter eggs from both the MCU and the Marvel comics. In fact, there were so many easter eggs that many people got only half of them. But don’t worry, because we are here to guide you through the gallery of Easter eggs in Ms. Marvel. So, just sit back and keep scrolling down this page!

Easter Eggs In Ms. Marvel

1. KAMALA’S HOBBY TO MAKE YOUTUBE VIDS LINES UP WITH THE COMICS

The first Ms. Marvel run featured a version of Kamala Khan who loved to write fan fiction. And just like what we see in her live-action Disney+, these fan fictions revolved around superheroes. But since we live in an internet-dominated world, she uses her creativity to make Youtube videos. Does this mean that if it were still the 2000s, Kamala would have been writing blogs?!

2. CALLBACKS TO CAPTAIN MARVEL COMICS

The first few minutes of the first episode see Kamala dictate what the ordinary people think about Captain Marvel’s origin. During this monologue, we see the Captain in many avatars and in many poses, including the ones we see in the comics. It has been a recent trend in the MCU where they feature their heroes in comic-book accurate poses. Thor did this trend in the first teaser for his Thor 4 movie and Hawkeye did it in the last episode of his solo Disney+ miniseries.

3. CAROL DANVERS’ ICONIC AND CONTROVERSIAL HAIRSTYLES

When fans first saw the origin of Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, we see Brie Larson with long hair. She kept them till Infinity War but changed them during the blip. Kamala’s short video paid homage to both of the hairstyles in one of the scenes.

4. CAPTAIN MARVEL WITH THE CLOAK OF LEVITATION

In the same video, we see Kamala brainstorm about what she should dress as in the AvengersCon Cosplay Competition. She wants to dress as Captain Marvel, obviously, but as different versions of her, so as to stand out. During this brainstorming session, she mentions a few crazy versions of the character, one of which is the Captin Marvel Strange where she dons the iconic Cloak of Levitation. Crazy, right?!

5. CAPTAIN MARVEL AS A VALKYRIE ON A UNICORN

Well, unlike the real world, Unicorns exist in the MCU and are Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie’s ride. Clearly, Kamala Khan likes her and the unicorn she rides upon and wants to dress up as Captain Marvel who rides a unicorn of her own. This is also a nod to another fictional character, She-Ra, who had, more or less, the same powers as Captain Marvel and rode a white horse. Bruno’s “Princess” comment on Vlak Captain Marvel was another reference to She-Ra and the Princess of Power.

6. ZOMBIE CAPTAIN MARVEL

During the brainstorming session, Kamala even mentions how she could also dress up as a zombie-fied version of Carol Danvers. This is a direct callback to the What If…?’s Marvel Zombies episode, which fans loved very much. They have even announced an entire Disney+ original featuring Marvel Zombies, so these easter eggs in Ms. Marvel might be a tease for that.

7. THE SCOTT LANG PODCAST- BIG ME LITTLE ME

With these Easter Eggs in Ms. Marvel, Marvel finally answered our questions about how the general public of the MCU knows about the Avengers’ affairs when they don’t attend many interviews. Well, they still don’t, except, one of them does! And as many would expect, it is Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man. In one scene, Kamala even thanked him for giving the inside scoop on the lives of the superheroes. And considering Lang is reciting the stories, he might tweak them to his advantage and this is why people think that he was in the Battle of NY. Thus, his appearance in Rogers the Musical!

8. MR WILSON IS PART OF A TRIBUTE TO THE COMICS

Another callback to the original comics run of Ms. Marvel is the teacher, Mr. Wilson, who is the career counselor at Kamala’s school. He is named after the writer of the first Ms. Marvel comic book, G Willow Wilson. Hence, making it a part of Easter Eggs in Ms. Marvel.

9. A COOL SUPERHERO LANDING

Ms. Marvel is the most aware MCU project to date. So, without a reference to the perfect superhero landing, this show would’ve been imperfect. The show referenced the perfect landing in one of Kamala’s fantasies where she sees herself seeking out of her house by jumping out of her bedroom window and descending with grace. That is why she named it, The Graceful Descent. Deadpool will be so proud!

10. THE BIRTHPLACE OF CAPTAIN AMERICA

Kamala is excited for the very first AvengersCon, which is being held very near to where she lives. Even though this is only a fan event and no corporate is sponsoring it, it is a big deal! And its location at Camp Leigh, right where Steve Rogers received the Supersoldier serum indicates it. And this is not the only callback to the first supersoldier! When Kamala and Bruno enter the convention, you can hear the 1942 song, Star-Spangled Man.

11. ‘THE AMERICA’S ASS’ RUNNING JOKE

Avengers: Endgame saw the superheroes traveling to the past, back when Steve Rogers wore skin-tight clothes. That’s where Tony jokes about his ass by referring to it as America’s ass. Since then, it has become a running joke among MCU fans. The MCU writers found the perfect opportunity to call back to this joke in the AvngersCon.

12. BLACK WIDOW’S SACRIFICE

Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, has never been the most popular Avenger, given her ‘secret spy’ status. So when she sacrificed her life for the Soul Stone so that the Avengers can bring back the snapped people, her sacrifice went, pretty much, unnoticed. We could see that it bothered Clint Barton very much in Disney+’s Hawkeye. However, MCU finally resolved this with a nice callback to her sacrifice at the AvengersCon.

13. SUPERHERO MERCHENDISES IN AVENGERSCON

If you have watched the episode, you know that the AvengersCon was filled with amazing callbacks to the MCU’s heroes. We could see people dressing up like them, their merch being sold at counters, and their dialogues on T-shirts. Now, we see most of those stuff on online stores, but some were exclusive to the MCU. For instance, ‘Asgard Pride’ was a reminder of Valkyrie’s sexuality and how they are proud of it. Moreover, we could even see MCU’s depiction of Asgard and Wakanda!

14. ZOE DRESSED AS THE COMIC VERSION OF CAROL DANVERS

The MCU execs have always changed the original costume of a character and made it more life-like. But they still always come up with a way to tease the original costume. This time, they teased the original Captain Marvel costume in the cosplay competition where Zoe donned the iconic suit. However, as a joke, writers had Kamala make fun of that because that looked nothing like its MCU version.

15. THE ORIGINAL MS MARVEL POWERS

There’s no doubt that Marvel changed the powers of Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel drastically when they made the jump to live-action. Instead of having powers like Mr. Fantastic, she now possesses power more on the par with Green Lantern. Many people have criticized Marvel execs for this step. So, by showing her conjure an extended arm, Marvel gave those people what they wanted. And that is, a more comic-book accurate Ms. Marvel.

16. THE DODC IS BACK!

Easter Eggs in Ms. Marvel

The DoDC has been a big part of the MCU, now that they have started an investigation on Stark Tech. Before that, they appeared in the MCU as the guys who took over the cleaning job from Adrian Toomes’ crew. Now, they are back in Ms. Marvel as a group that investigates superpowered individuals. In this case, Kamala Khan!

17. AN HOMAGE TO THE CREATIVE TEAM BEHIND MS MARVEL

Marvel has always found creative ways to pay tribute and include a homage to their works in certain shots. Lately, they are doing this in almost every film as comic book fans really seem to enjoy such callbacks. As for Ms. Marvel, the signboard for Kamala’s school, Coles Academic High School, features the names of prominent execs behind the creation and adaptation of Ms. Marvel.

  1. G Willow Wilson- The original writer for Ms. Marvel comics. He is also a co-creator of the character
  2. Ian Herring- Colorist for Ms. Marvel comics between 2014-2021
  3. Stephen Wacker- Worked on the designs for the character
  4. Adrian Alphona, Takeshi Miyazawa & Nico Leon- Artists to have worked on Ms. Marvel comics
  5. Joe Karamagna- Has worked as a letterer for multiple Ms. Marvel comics
  6. Jamie McKelvie- Designed the Ms. Marvel costume
